Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

A year after launch, Nintendo has a few Switch games that continue to sell. The likes of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Super Mario Odyssey still regularly appear on the charts.

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa described these titles during a recent financial results briefing as “hardware drivers”. He added that Nintendo intends to “incorporate add-on content and other factors that will keep these titles in the spotlight, so they will continue to sell alongside the hardware.”

During Nintendo’s financial results briefing last week, president Shuntaro Furukawa was initially asked a flurry of questions. Topics included the company’s strategy for Switch this holiday, the user base that will popularize the console, and how pre-orders are going for Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu / Eevee and Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Nintendo has posted another update to the Smash Bros. Blog for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This time around, we have an introduction to the Yuri Kozukata Assist Trophy.

Pokemon: Detective Pikachu is half a year away from its premiere, but the movie is mostly shrouded in mystery. That could be changing very soon.

Alberta Film Ratings rated Detective Pikachu’s first trailer today, meaning we might be seeing it within the next few days. In fact, TrailerTrack speculates that it could show up within the next week. The trailer may very well be playing before screenings of the new Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald film – another movie that Warner Bros. is distributing.

It’s only a matter of time until we get our first proper look at Pokemon: Detective Pikachu. The movie debuts on May 10.
