Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince final trailer

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince has received one final launch trailer. The RPG is still over two months away, but it seems that Square Enix is slowing down on video content.

Here’s what to expect from the game:

My Lovely Empress

My Lovely Empress is coming to Switch, publisher Neon Doctrine and developer GameChanger Studio announced at the Tokyo Game Show today. A release is planned for 2024.

My Lovely Empress follows in the footsteps of My Lovely Daughter and My Lovely Wife, both of which are on Switch. As for the new game, we have the following details:

Altheia The Wrath of Aferi

Publisher Neon Doctrine, along with developer MarsLit Games, today announced Altheia: The Wrath of Aferi. It’s planned for Switch, but there’s no word yet on launch timing.

Altheia: The Wrath of Aferi is a fantasy adventure game in which a sword–wielding Guardian and an arcane Monk must work together to defeat the Void corrupting their home, and players will explore ruined temples, solve environmental puzzles, rescue spirits, and defeat giant Void monsters. Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2

Original (8/1): D3Publisher is developing Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 for Switch, it’s been revealed. A release window has not yet been confirmed.

Famitsu has the early scoop on the game. More information will be shared in this week’s issue of the magazine (and official details should follow soon). A feature will also be included looking back at the overall series.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong graphics comparison

Mario vs. Donkey Kong is back on Switch with a remake of the original GBA game, and a new graphics comparison video shows how the two versions stack up. This comes courtesy of GameXplain.

Not only did the development team update the in-game visuals, but the cutscenes as well. Although gameplay thus far seems to be largely similar to the original, it’s clear by a quick glance just how much the graphics have changed for the new Switch version.

My Hero Ultra Rumble release date

At the 2023 Tokyo Game Show today, Bandai Namco and Byking provided a release date for My Hero Ultra Rumble. As it turns out, it’s just a few days away with the launch scheduled for September 28.

My Hero Ultra Rumble was first announced for Switch at the very start of 2022. However, Bandai Namco has been keeping quiet on any sort of launch timing until today.

Yohane the Parhelion Blaze in the Deepblue

Original (6/26): Inti Creates today unveiled Yohane the Parhelion: Blaze in the Deepblue, a new 2D action game for Switch. We have a confirmed release date of November 16, 2023.

Inti Creates is known for the Gunvolt, Blaster Master Zero, and Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon games. It also worked on the Mega Man Zero titles as well as Mega Man 9 / Mega Man 10. Yohane the Parhelion: Blaze in the Deepblue is based on Yohane the Parhelion, which is an official anime spin-off of Love Live!! Sunshine.

Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes

Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes is in development for Switch, Arc System Works and French Bread just revealed. The news was shared at EVO 2023 moments ago.

Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes is a sequel to the original fighter that first appeared on Switch in 2020. Arc System Works and French Bread are planning the new title for 2024.

Pikmin 1 + 2 update 1.1.0

Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2 both just got a new update, and both games are now at version 1.1.0. Thanks to Nintendo, we have the patch notes as usual.

Both games now have added language support – namely Dutch, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. Also, while both have seen issues addressed, Pikmin 2 has taken care of a specific issue in Challenge Mode involving a crash.

If you were a DS player back in the day, you may have heard of a small game called Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja. Success has now announced that it’s bringing back the IP with a new iteration on Switch.

Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja, a dungeon crawler RPG, first hit Japan in 2006. 505 Games later localized it for the west in 2007.
