Enraged Red Ogre

Original (6/28): Akaoni Studio, the team behind Zombie Panic in Wonderland, has announced Enraged Red Ogre as its next project. Switch will be getting the game in Fall 2023.

Enraged Red Ogre is a 2D adventure title with action and platforming, and it features a grumpy red ogre with incredible strength. More information can be found in the following overview:

LISA: Definitive Edition update

Serenity Forge and Dingaling Productions have issued a new update for LISA: Definitive Edition.

Various quality of life improvements are included. It also adds support for Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Latin America), French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Russian (with Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean to follow).

Wildfrost "A Better Adventure" update

Wildfrost has gone live with a new update dubbed “A Better Adventure”.

The patch includes a new leader selection system, more rewards, an overhaul of the enemy wave system, and target preview for enemies. That’s on top of bug fixes and some other aspects.

Fire Emblem Heroes Alear: Awoken Divinity

Fire Emblem Heroes has announced its latest Legendary Hero, which will be Alear: Awoken Divinity from Fire Emblem Engage.

The character is voiced by Laura Stahl and features art from Kousei Horiguchi. Alear’s lineup of skills include Dragon’s Fist, Dragon Blast, Atk/Spd Finish 4, Null-C Disrupt 4, and Atk/Spd Pledge.

The Alear: Awoken Divinity event for Fire Emblem Heroes goes live on  August 31, 2023. Players will also be able to summon previously released 5-star Legendary Heroes and Mythic Heroes.

Splatoon 3 update 5.0.0

Nintendo just delivered the full, massive patch notes for the Splatoon 3 version 5.0.0 update.

The update will accompany Drizzle Season 2023, which will include new content and features. That means a new catalog, new stages, new weapons’, and more. You can read a bunch more about it here.

Outside of content, many changes are planned to multiplayer Splatfests, and more. Expect a bunch of bug fixes as well.

Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars delayed

Konami has announced that it has delayed Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars.

Previously, the collection was on track for 2023. Now, however, Konami is not specifying any sort of time frame – it’s simply TBA.

Bubble Ghost Remake

Publisher SelectaPlay and developer Vidibond Games today announced Bubble Ghost Remake, and it’s coming to Switch. There’s no word on release timing as of now.

Bubble Ghost first came out in 1987 and also saw a Game Boy version. For the remake, the team is implementing fully updated graphics and sound plus new features such as new game modes, challenging final bosses, collectables, and more secrets.

Sonic pixel art

In the eyes of Sonic Team head and Sonic Superstars producer Takashi Iizuki, pixel art won’t be a “viable” style in the future.

Iizuki was speaking with GamesRadar about SEGA’s upcoming game in a recent interview. Sonic Superstars will be using 2.5D visuals whereas past entries – going back to the franchise’s original days – used pixel art.

Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles launch trailer

NIS America issued a launch trailer for Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles, which just landed on Switch. The package includes Rhapsody II: Ballad of the Little Princess and Rhapsody III: Memories of Marl Kingdom, which are seeing their first English appearance.
