The Flame In The Flood launches October 12 on Switch
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch eShop | 1 Comment
The Molasses Flood and Curve Digital have set a release date for The Flame In The Flood on Switch. The game is planned for launch on October 12, the two companies announced today.
Find some additional information about The Flame In The Flood and a trailer below.
The Flame In The Flood is a bleak but beautiful rogue-lite set upon a treacherous, procedurally generated river. With the help of your trusty dog, Aesop, The Flame In The Flood tasks you to make the most of your surroundings by foraging, hunting and scavenging your way through nature and the remains of society. With an evocative, homespun art-style and lilting, original soundtrack by Chuck Ragan, survival has never been this enjoyable.
Drink in the delicate beauty of post-societal America before the perils of reality begin to bite. Wild animals, the natural elements and the great, winding river all pose unique threats in a game where survival is achieved through a mix of smarts and resourcefulness. Playing as intrepid wanderer, Scout, you must feed and clothe yourself from the land and whatever else you find along the way. Craft equipment and traps, upgrade your makeshift raft and brave the rapids, all set against the stark majesty of the game’s forgotten world.

Yacht Club: Shovel Knight sold more units out of the gate on Switch than any other platform
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch eShop | 2 Comments
Shovel Knight first appeared nearly three years ago. Despite that, the game did incredibly well on Switch at launch.
Yacht Club’s David D’Angelo told GamesIndustry that Shovel Knight “sold more units out of the gate than any other platform.” However, he also cautioned that the eShop is beginning to become more crowded, and believes Nintendo needs to find an easier way of highlighting both new and old titles.
D’Angelo said:
“I believe many developers right now are experiencing the same phenomenon. At the moment, games definitely stand out when they launch and consumers are excited to purchase, but at this rate there will be an over-abundance of games. We hope Nintendo updates the eShop to make it easier to highlight and find new and old titles.”

Arcanity has announced that its single-player RPG Tanzia is in development for Switch. The game features a mix of fast-paced strategic combat with elements of favorite classic RPGs in an open 3D world of magic and monsters. You’ll explore a luscious island setting filled with various characters, all the while partaking in a story of the legendary hero who’s destined to save his world from the biggest threat it has ever seen.
Tanzia’s story was created in collaboration with Kevin Saunders. Saunders previously worked as a senior designer on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, lead designer on Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer, and project director on Torment: Tides of Numenera.
