Over the past few weeks, we’ve heard more and more about different modes for Switch when it’s docked and when the device is being played as a standalone unit. That culminated with a report from Digital Foundry just a couple of days ago. The publication claims that Switch, when in portable mode, runs at 40 percent of the clock-speed of the fully docked device.

Unreal Engine 4 version 4.14 released about a month ago. One developer has now come across some interesting discoveries which lend credence to some of the recent speculation.

All sorts of data intelligent firms have come out with figures about Super Mario Run’s initial performance. However, now we have some data straight from the source: Nintendo.

Nintendo said in an announcement today that Super Mario Run topped 40 million worldwide downloads in just four days. Nintendo announced. Additionally, the mobile release is the top-ranking free game on the App Store in 140 countries and regions, and is in the top 10 highest grossing games on the App Store in 100 countries.

Nintendo UK has come out with a new commercial for Dragon Quest VIII which highlights new features included in the 3DS RPG. Have a look at it below.

Way back in 1992, Japanese magazine Famicon Tsuushin published an interview all about The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past with Shigeru Miyamoto. Shmuplations has now gone to the trouble of translating it in full. There are notable topics here, such as how Nintendo approached the name, Miyamoto’s interest in making an open-ended Zelda (which he’s finally realizing with Breath of the Wild), and scrapped ideas due to hardware limitations.

Tank Troopers arrived on the Japanese 3DS eShop today, and now we have some footage to go along with its release. 14 minutes of gameplay can be seen below.

Miitomo has been updated with new content. Players can nab the latest items in the Miitomo Drop stage, “Let’s celebrate! Festive Holiday Fun #3”.

Available items include:

– Toy soldier hat
– Toy soldier uniform
– Party hat
– Holiday party gown

Users can select Miitomo Drop stages from the Shop tab. Miitomo coins or game tickets are needed to play.

Originally, the Azure Striker Gunvolt anime OVA was planned for Winter 2016. That target won’t be met, but not by much. The team now hopes to have the anime ready in January.

When it’s ready, the Azure Striker Gunvolt anime OVA will be placed on the 3DS eShop. It will be distributed in North America, Europe, and Japan.

My Nintendo is giving users another opportunity to earn easy points.

A new page has opened up on Nintendo’s website here. Basically, it allows users to send an invitation to friends to check out the 3DS. Filling out the form will provide you with 20 Platinum Points.

Note that Nintendo is only handing out Platinum Points once. Even if you fill out the form a second time inviting another friend, you won’t be given any extra points.
