Nintendo is creating a number of new animated shorts based on the Pikmin franchise. Shigeru Miyamoto is personally overseeing the videos’ development, which are planned for release ahead of Pikmin 3’s arrival.

According to Miyamoto:

“They’ll be released sometime before the release of Pikmin 3. Possibly as a Nintendo video. If they’re popular we could consider selling them.”

Miyamoto developed a number of mock-ups with the 3DS’ Flipnote Studio app (why isn’t this out yet?!), and teamed up with an external animation studio to create the shorts. Some members of the press were given a sneak peak look at one of the clips which was directed by Miyamoto himself.

Super Turrican is missing on the Wii Shop Channel. We’re not actually sure when the game disappeared… but the point is, you can’t buy it any longer. It’s unclear why Super Turrican was pulled, but strangely enough, its sequel is still up on the digital store.

Terra Incognita managed to hit its Kickstarter stretch goal just a few hours before the campaign ended. A total of £3,630 was raised, a huge increase over the desired £500 amount and just a bit more than the £3,500 stretch goal total. Due to the success on Kickstarter, fans can expect Terra Incognita to arrive on Wii U.

Daniel Wang, a staffer over at Virtuos, has listed “Batman Arkham 3” on his LinkedIn profile as an Unreal Engine 3 project. Virtuos has worked in numerous console and handheld games in the past, including Batman: Arkham City.

The Unreal Engine 3 mention on Wang’s CV may give some insight when it comes to planned platforms for the next Batman. Since it apparently won’t be built on Unreal Engine 3, it looks like the game will be heading to current-gen systems, though next-gen releases aren’t necessarily out of the question.
