Nintendo UK marketing boss Shelly Pearce has echoed sentiments made by Bill Trinen that the 3DS will be having a big year in 2013. Pearce told MCV that “this year really is the year of 3DS.”
Pearce made note of the system’s strong lineup in 2013 while also pointing to the 3DS’ already-strong library:
“Our aim is obviously to upgrade as many DS owners as possible and with our strongest ever software line up and with games which appeal to all of our different audiences, this year really is the year of 3DS. 3DS has really come into its own over the last two years. The 2013 software line-up is the strongest we’ve ever had and combined with a diverse back-catalogue that includes both Nintendo favourites like Mario, Professor Layton and Zelda as well as titles like Kid Icarus and Heroes of Ruin or New Style Boutique, there really is something for everyone.”
When it comes to marketing activity in 2013, 3DS product manager Roger Langford said:
“You can expect to see extensive sampling, heavy weight TV campaigns, significant online activity and a focus on building communities via social media and events.”

Famitsu officially confirmed Ace Attorney 5’s release date for Japan this week. In the meantime, series fans in the west are now wondering when the game will arrive in their territory.
Capcom has been quiet when it comes to Ace Attorney 5 news for overseas territories, but it sounds like we’ll be hearing something fairly soon. Capcom USA’s senior VP Christian Svensson recently wrote on the company’s official forums that an update will be coming “in the not so distant future”.
“AA5 is coming along great. I saw a build last month when I was in Osaka. We’ll have some news for Western fans in the not so distant future (we know you want to know and we know you know the Japan dates). Hang in there…”

The Cocoto franchise is no stranger to Nintendo platforms. The Wii, DS, and 3DS have collectively seen numerous series entries.
Cocoto will now be making the jump to the Wii U. Neko Entertainment has announced that it is collaborating with Bigben Interactive on a new Cocoto title for the console. For the time being, it seems as though a release is only planned for European retail.
“Actually, we’re also working on a new Cocoto title with Bigben Interactive, which will be released in in the European retail market. We’ll surely continue to develop downloadable games; it is, to us, future in many ways.”

Chipot said:
“The game has been approved by Nintendo and the release date has been set to May 2. We really wanted to have the two versions released at the same time, or at least with one or two weeks after, to avoid frustration from the American players.”
Kung Fu Rabbit launched in Europe today. The game can be purchased for £4.49.
