[Let’s Talk] Are you sold on Pikmin 4?
Posted on 1 year ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk, Switch | 0 comments
Pikmin 4 is the next big game from Nintendo, and it’s actually one that’s going to need to carry Switch for a bit – at least from a first-party perspective. As things stand now, Nintendo won’t be publishing a brand new game until October. That’s when things get busy as the company will be involved with Detective Pikachu Returns, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, WarioWare: Move It, and Super Mario RPG in the span of a month or so.
Pikmin originated from Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of hits like Mario and Zelda, but this particular franchise hasn’t quite reached the same heights as those IPs from a sales perspective. Still, the series has continued on since the GameCube days. Pikmin is also one of the few Nintendo franchises with a presence on mobile.

We’re a few days removed from the June 2023 Nintendo Direct, and now we’re interested in hearing your honest reactions to the event.
As always, Nintendo brought a few key announcements to the show. A week ago, many wouldn’t have guessed that Super Mario RPG would be getting a remake on Switch. The other big moment of the show was Nintendo unveiling Super Mario Wonder. We also heard about a new Princess Peach game and Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon for Switch that are coming out next year, and WarioWare: Move It was revealed for November. Detective Pikachu Returns was unveiled after being teased years ago, too. Pikmin 1 and 2 for Switch were even revealed and announced on the same day.
On the third-party front, there were some announcements as well. Metal Gear Solid Collection Vol. 1, Batman: Arkham Trilogy, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, Star Ocean: The Second Story R, and Penny’s Big Breakaway were shown.
This wasn’t everything, but those were some of the notable games shown. You can catch up on everything in Nintendo’s recap here. And let us know how you felt about the Nintendo Direct as a whole, and what your favorite announcement was.

[Let’s Talk] What’s left for Nintendo on Switch in 2023?
Posted on 1 year ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk, Switch | 0 comments
Switch owners are currently left in the dark when it comes to what’s next from Nintendo. Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom just launched and that’s an absolutely massive title that can carry the company for a bit, but there should be more games coming this year. After Pikmin 4 in July, Nintendo isn’t just going to stop there. DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and other titles will help pad out the schedule, but it remains to be seen what Nintendo has cooking as far as brand new games go.
Something like a Nintendo Direct could quickly and easily give fans a better idea as to what’s planned. However, whereas in the past you could always count on a presentation airing in June alongside E3, that’s not a certainty anymore – especially since the expo has been cancelled for 2023. Having said that, Nintendo can put out a Direct whenever it feels it’s the best opportunity to do so, and randomly announcing new games on social media isn’t out of the question either.
With that out of the way, what do you think we’ll see from Nintendo for the rest of 2023? Do you think Metroid Prime 4 could make it out this year? What do you personally hope to see? Let us know in the comments.

The moment many Nintendo fans had been waiting for finally happened this week – we’re of course referring to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launching. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: this is a huge release for Switch and one of the most notable titles of 2023 for gaming in general. It’s been six years since Nintendo came out with Breath of the Wild – the series’ most successful entry – so it’s understandable how much anticipation there’s been behind it.
Although it’s not been terribly long since Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom arrived given how it just came out yesterday, many of you likely have been sinking your teeth into it by this point. With that in mind, we’re interested in your early impressions. If you picked up the game, how are you feeling about it so far? How do you think it compares to Breath of the Wild? Let us know in the comments below.

Posted on 1 year ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk | 0 comments
The Super Mario Bros. Movie has been out for a little over a week now, and we want to hear your impressions.
This was a big deal for Nintendo as one of its first real cracks at cinema since the live-action Mario film many, many years ago. There was a lot of pressure to get it right, and while some of the reviews have been mixed, it’s already proven to be a huge success.
If you’ve been able to check out The Super Mario Bros. Movie, what’d you think of it? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
