Let’s Talk

lets talk pokemon scarlet or pokemon violet

We’re about a month away from the launch of Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, the latest entry in the legendary franchise that started up over 25 years ago. The games will largely be the same, but like past entries, a few details will set them apart.

Something we saw with the original games is that a few select creatures were exclusive to each version, and that’s once again the case here. As one example, Koraidon is the main Legendary Pokemon for Scarlet while Miraidon is the Violet counterpart. Additionally, those playing Pokemon Scarlet will encounter Professor Sada while Pokemon Violet has Professor Turo. Small outfit changes are also included. You can find more information here.

So which version are you thinking of going for? Maybe you plan on picking up both? Let us know in the comments.

The day many were waiting for finally arrived this week with the first trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Nintendo even decided to show off the teaser by broadcasting it in a special Nintendo Direct. The trailer was obviously the main point of the whole thing, but we did get to hear a few words from Shigeru Miyamoto, Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri, Chris Pratt (the voice of Mario), and Jack Black (the voice of Bowser).

Now that the dust has settled on the first trailer, what are thoughts on what was shown? How are you feeling about Mario’s look in the movie? Are you liking (or disliking) what you’ve heard from Chris Pratt and Jack Black? Let us know in the comments below.

A new month started up today. Now that we’re in October, we want to know what you’ve been playing.

Have you been splatting your way through Splatoon 3? Going through other new games like The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero or Life is Strange: Arcadia Bay Collection? No matter the case, let us know in the comments.

It’s been a long time coming, but in just a couple of weeks, we’ll finally be getting a first glimpse at the Super Mario Bros. animated movie. We’ve known about the film for years, but Nintendo and Illumination have yet to share any sort of look at the film. That changes in early October though, as it’s been confirmed that the first teaser trailer will debut at New York Comic Con.

You could make the case that Nintendo has a lot riding on this film. As fans know, the company really hasn’t explored the movie space. After the 1993 live-action Mario film which was derided, Nintendo wasn’t too interested in exploring movies.

With the animated Mario movie trailer coming in very soon, what do you hope that the teaser will show? What do you personally expect from the video? Do you have any hopes and dreams for the movie overall? Let us know in the comments.

Nintendo closed the event with its biggest game: Zelda. We finally have a full title (Tears of the Kingdom), a release date (May 12), and new footage was shown. It also revealed new N64 games for Nintendo Switch Online – including GoldenEye 007 – and shared updates for games like Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Mario Strikers: Battle League.

From third-parties, we got a number of new announcements as well. Some of the games include Octopath Traveler II, Theatrhythm Final Bar Line, and Atelier Ryza 3. Ports and remasters had a presence with the likes of It Takes Two, Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, Tunic, Rune Factory 3 Special, and Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life.

This isn’t everything, but you can catch up on the full recap here. In any case, share your thoughts with us in the comments.
