Ubisoft has offered a tease for next-generation consoles. In the company’s latest financial report, chief executive officer Yves Guillemot stated these new systems will be more connected and will boost the market.

Guillemot said:

“From a longer-term perspective, Ubisoft is positioning itself to capitalize on: the forthcoming arrival of the next generation of consoles which will be increasingly connected and will strongly boost the market thanks to a new qualitative leap and the integration of social games benefits and the item based model, the ongoing strong growth in the Free-to-Play market for PCs, smartphones and tablets.”

Ubisoft is already readying a great amount of support for one next-generation console, Nintendo’s Wii U. Several titles are planned for the system’s launch.

Capcom won’t have any Nintendo games on display at E3 2012 next month. That’s according to a company representative.

As far as we know, Capcom has absolutely nothing in the works for North American 3DS owners. Monster Hunter Tri G still hasn’t been announced for the continent, but fans were hoping for a confirmation within the next few weeks. And although Capcom is creating Monster Hunter 4 and Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney for the 3DS, it’s unknown if either title will leave Japan.

We also don’t know what Capcom has in store for Wii U, if anything. Perhaps the company is just playing coy to make some splashes at E3 (or maybe I’m just delusional, which is probably the case).

Last week it was believed that Atari would be shutting down Eden Games. The move would help the company recoup from a drop in revenue this past fiscal year.

But as it turns out, Atari has now officially said that it won’t be closing Eden Games, the studio behind Test Driver Unlimited in a few other titles.

Atari said in a statement:

“Our earnings statement contained a report about the divestment of Eden Studios. We want to make it clear that the studio has not closed and that we will continue to support the console and PC games of Eden Studios, notably Test Drive Unlimited 2, while this process is underway.

“The divestment is in line with our previously stated strategy of exploiting our popular intellectual property library on mobile devices, where he have seen strong initial success, and via online games and licensing.”

According to Famitsu, the next “Tales of” game from Namco Bandai is a “mothership” title. This means it’ll be a core entry rather than a spinoff or remake. There’s some speculation that it could be a sequel to Tales of Xillia.

If I had to guess, I’d say the new Tales title will arrive on the PlayStation 3. Maybe a Wii U version will be possible as well?

In any case, Namco Bandai will unveil the new game on June 2 at the Tales of Festival.

Namco Bandai has opened up a teaser site for the “Tales of” project, which you can find here. An unveiling will take place during the Tales of Festival on June 2 and June 3.

It hasn’t been made clear which platform(s) the game will be released on. Much of the title is shrouded in mystery overall, but Japanese magazine Jump did show some art in its latest issue.

Nintendo has a countdown running for the return of that “favorite” Club Nintendo reward teased yesterday. You can find it here.

Maybe this is bigger than a 3DS Game Card Case?

Renegade Kid’s Jools Watsham is at it again with another large update about the company’s projects. In the video blog above, Watsham discusses Mutant Mudds 2 (which is practically a lock for 2013), release time frames for already-announced games, new ideas (such as a new 2D platformer), and more.

Courtesy of Jump, here’s a scan of the next Tales game. It doesn’t show much other than a few pieces of artwork.

A teaser site will eventually go live here, but we’ll have to wait until the Tales of Festival for a proper unveiling. The event will be held in Japan on June 2 and June 3.
