We made a notice about this a week or so ago, but now we also have some additional information that was not included in the original post:

– If you buy two games, you can pick up a third one for free
– Includes all games
– “Free/discounted item must be of equal or lesser value to the lowest priced item purchased”
– This deal includes accessories from $5 – $100
– Because they are considered to be gift cards, new point cards are not included in the sale (unless they come in some sort of bundle packs)
– Unfortunately, the deal is only for residents of the United States
– Reward members can use this coupon to take $5 off the purchase
– Check your local store regarding preorders – There may be a chance to preorder certain games at the register
– You can take advantage of the deal numerous times (meaning you can have another order of three games)
– If the game has been opened, you can only return the original purchase for the same title
– Bundles should be included in the deal
– Takes place from 10/11 – 10/17

During the Tokyo Game Show, Koei Tecmo published a trailer for an unannounced title. There wasn’t much to the actual video and the game itself has been shrouded in mystery. However, according to the official website, Koei Tecmo will be properly unveiling the game next Wednesday in Tokyo. Company president Kenji Matsubara and producer Hisashi Koinuma (Samurai Warriors 2, Samurai Warrios 3) will be attending.

Some have speculated that the new title might be a Fist of the North Star project. A few games in the series have launched on the DS and Wii, but it remains to be seen which platform(s) this new game will land on. If it is Nintendo related, we’ll keep you up-to-date.

pokemon_3d_modeler

Game Freak, the creators of the handheld Pokemon titles, wish to hire a 3D modeler. Now I’m wondering: What does the company have in mind? We’ve heard that a Pokemon Wii game is in development, but Game Freak has yet to create a console title. In fact, Game Freak has little experience with 3D in general. So will the developers take the plunge into the console world? Or will they make use of 3D models for the next handheld title? Perhaps nothing will come of the hiring at all! So while this is a little piece of interesting news, we’ll have to wait and see if there’s any significance behind it.

Paris, France – October 05, 2009. Today, Ubisoft announced the acquisition of the development studio Nadeo, creator of TrackMania, the cult multiplayer car racing video game.

Set up in 2000 in Paris and comprising a highly talented team of developers, the Nadeo studio has won acclaim for the quality of its multiplayer technology which offers one of the best available on-line game experiences and has already notched up 10 million registered players. Its flagship game – TrackMania – has 700,000 unique players a month and is a pioneer in the sharing of creations (almost 15 million custom tracks created since 2008). It is also the first eSport franchise for racing games.

“The acquisition of Nadeo is an important step in our expansion within the on-line gaming sector”, said Yves Guillemot, Chief Executive Officer of Ubisoft. “Through Nadeo, Ubisoft will gain an expert team, one of the best on-line technologies around as well as a flagship multiplayer game that enjoys an unrivalled reputation among a loyal and committed community. We are excited about the idea of introducing TrackMania to an ever-wider audience and sharing the expertise of Nadeo’s teams with our Group’s other developers”.

“Joining Ubisoft is a huge opportunity for us to develop and innovate and take Nadeo to new horizons”, said Florent Castelnérac, Chief Executive Officer of Nadeo. “Nadeo’s team was keen for this acquisition to happen. Like players in a community, we see ourselves as being a complementary fit with Ubisoft and believe that we can share and quickly move ahead together”.
