Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto was absent from Nintendo’s E3 press conference this year. However, he will be hosting a round table later today. This event is actually where Super Smash Bros. Brawl was unveiled. Could gamers be in for a similar treat tonight?

“We’re all about surprises. We will show that game when it’s ready. At the right time. Close to when it’s going to be launched. It’s not there yet. But Mr. Miyamoto still has his roundtable to do, so maybe you’ll see. Maybe you might get that surprise after all…If you look at how Mr. Miyamoto has interacted in our press conferences, it’s been a wide range — everything from making an appearance at the end in 2004 to being on hand to do a demo. This year, given all the content that we had, we thought it would be best for him to go in-depth with a handful of games during his developer’s roundtable and that’s what he’s going to do later today…Again, we’re always trying to surprise you. So we’ll see.” – Reggie Fils-Aime

Nintendo began this console generation with the Wiimote, the first controller to feature heavy motion controls for a console. But yesterday, Microsoft showed that they will eventually launch Project Natal, which, naturally has been receiving comparisons to the Wii remote. So what is Nintendo’s stance on Natal? Reggie Fils-Aime explains:

“It’s interesting. You could make the argument that the health genre, like Wii Fit, is becoming red ocean — there’s a lot of different content coming out. You could say that in the future, that potentially active playing might be a red ocean in the future depending on what happens with our two competitors. For us, we’re making precision control a reality today. What we’re showing with Wii Sports Resort really takes the way you handle the controller to a whole new level. So for us, we’re focused on the reality of today of how to drive that in an important way within gaming. We’ll let our competitors talk about what might or might not be in the future.”

E3 Day 1 – Wii and DS Overview

Every year game developers from across the globe gather at what can be called the biggest video game convention in the world to showcase what they believe to be their top quality products. In past years this is where games like The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and the Sony Playstation 3 console were announced, and this year should be no different. With rumors circulating of new Mario’s or new Zelda’s among others, E3 2009 promises to be just as good, if not better, than previous outings.

Wondering which games Nintendo will be featuring at their booth during this week? Well, a few rumors have popped up that tell us which titles they might be. A NeoGAF member claims to have had a quick look at Nintendo’s booth. According to the user, there were huge Sin and Punishment 2/Endless Ocean 2 banners. The Sin and Punishment 2 rumor is not the first time it has appeared. Another member also claimed to have seen the banner. Last but not least, Luigi, a Mario brick square, and a coin were also located in the area.

Here’s one last rumor, but please let me stress that yes, this is speculation and should only be taken as a rumor – for now. According to “Annoying Old Party Man” on NeoGAF, it was said in more or less words that Zelda Wii will be announced tomorrow. Of course, I wouldn’t be posting this if I didn’t believe in the user at all. Believe it or not, “Annoying Old Party Man” predicted last night that Halo Reach would be revealed – And we all know what happened at Microsoft’s conference today. But again, this is by no means a confirmation. It was additionally stressed that the user’s source does not have concrete information about Nintendo’s conference, seeing as how Nintendo is unpredictable. At the same time, however, “Annoying Old Party Man” said that his source “knows about the new Zelda.”

The press release doesn’t mention which platforms the game will be releasing for, but I would be shock if it didn’t hit either the Wii or DS.

Capcom has had a grand old time teasing its secret E3 game. A few days ago, Christian Svensson actually stated that there had been a change of plans and that the title would hopefully surprise gamers. Now, via Capcom’s twitter account, one last hint was released.

“Capcom Mystery Game #2: all (well, some) secrets will be revealed Tuesday morning! No more hints!”

So, Capcom will begin to reveal their secrets starting Tuesday morning. But according to the notice above, there will be more goodies to follow.

Christian Svensson, Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development, has updated the status of the company’s to-be-announced E3 title once again. Believe it or not, Mr. Svensson was originally under the impression that a different game was going to be announced. But in actuality, the game is something that fans do not know about. Capcom is hoping that the title will be a surprise. Check out Mr. Svensson’s response below:

“Update… and apologies. The thing I thought was the other game we were announcing is in fact, not being announced at E3 (the plan changed, it’s being announced later). So that las game is not something you know anything about and hopefully, it will be a complete surprise. So I was wrong. You may resume speculation/your frenzy of excitement.”
