SEGA still quiet on possible Wii release of Project Needlemouse

This information comes from SEGA’s official Twitter…
“Nothing concrete is really known about the game yet is it? It could be on anything!…Nothing is ever confirmed until we confirmed it.”
SEGA wouldn’t say if Project Needlemouse will be coming to Wii last year and, as you can see, they’re still not ready to talk. Hopefully we’ll hear something from the company soon.
The Last Story, “Nintendo device” trademarked in Europe
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 1 Comment
Last year, Nintendo filed a Japanese trademark for something called The Last Story. It isn’t clear if the title is a Wii game, a DS game, or nothing more than a concept. Even though we’re still in the dark about the whole thing, we do have a little bit of additional news to share with you today.
Nintendo has registered the same name in Europe, along with something called the “NINTENDO device.” I’m not sure if Nintendo has plans for The Last Story to interact with the device, but it seems like it could be an interesting idea!
Thanks to Gui for the news tip!

Jan 11, 2010 – Nintendo UK announces a breakthrough partnership with Change4Life, the national campaign run by the Department of Health, to support and encourage families in changing to a healthier, more active lifestyle.
Creators of the smash hit home and handheld consoles, Wii and Nintendo DS, Nintendo has led the way in creating a brand new genre of active video games, a phenomenon frequently termed ‘exer-gaming’, making them an ideal partner to talk to families across the UK and promote Change4Life’s ‘Up and About’ and ’60 Active Minutes’ messages.
Fragile may have a pre-order bonus, XSEED to announce future titles soon

“In terms of pre-order bonuses, do you know about the Lunar Collectors Edition? Or how about the exclusive Ragnarok Online accessories for your online avatar by pre-ordering Ragnarok DS at participating retailers? We are also currently looking into a pre-order bonus for Fragile Dreams as well.
And yes, we have some titles beyond Q1 which we haven’t announced yet. We will probably make an official announcement within a month’s time or so about our upcoming lineup.” – XSEED rep
I’m really interested to see what XSEED has in store this year. You never know what title they’ll localize for the American market. Even though XSEED lost Muramasa and Arc Rise Fantasia, they’re still a very competent publisher.
Capcom: Dead Rising Wii sales are decent, “demake-esque” title on the way

“I’m preaching to the choir on this one, but Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop definitely got a bad rap. If you stop counting the number of zombies on the screen and just play, you’ll have some fun. People couldn’t help comparing it to the X360 game, which I can understand, but it did okay at retail, so I’d put this in a grey area.” – Seth Killian, Capcom’s Senior Manager of Community
“… (I’m) happy to say there’s something else distinctly demake-esque coming soon. Of course, there’s also Mega Man 10, which isn’t so much a demake as a straight up high-five to the joys of classic gaming…” – Seth Killian, Capcom’s Senior Manager of Community
Mr. Killian had a few other things to say as well. Capcom will be busy with retro revivals, remakes, new IPs, and possibly new hardcore Wii titles this year. Additionally, the company is working on a surprising motion control project that Killian believes “nobody will see coming,” although it may not be Nintendo related.
Famitsu to announce well-known “robot action game” in next issue
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 14 Comments
Famitsu has always been a great publication to learn about the latest games from Japan. In fact, the magazine often reveals games before any other outlet. All readers should once again keep their eyes peeled on next week’s issue, as the magazine will share the first information on a popular “robot action game.” There will be a 5 page preview as well as a developer interview to accompany the announcement. As is usually the case with these types of secrets, there is no confirmation yet as to which platform(s) the game is being created for. However, in about a week’s time, we’ll find out.
Rumor: Platinum Games delays countdown reveal
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Rumors | 0 comments
A few days ago, a countdown was discovered on Platinum Games’ Japanese website. There has been much speculation that the company could be ready to unveil Shinji Mikami’s game, which has been in development since 2008. The countdown seemed to point to an unveiling in just a few days (or perhaps earlier if there were to be a news leak from Famitsu), although it looks like that is no longer the case. The official Platinum Games site now indicates that the countdown will expire in 27 days, that is unless the page is experiencing some sort of glitch at the moment. It is possible, however, that Platinum Games may simply need to wait a little bit longer before making an announcement.

Did you know? Ending in beta version of Super Mario Bros. 2 wasn’t a dream
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 4 Comments
Once Wart is defeated at the end of Super Mario Bros. 2, Mario can be seen dreaming in his bed. Because of this, it’s only natural to assume that what occurred wasn’t real. Basically, there is an indication that the adventure takes place inside Mario’s head.
You may be surprised to know that the beta version of Super Mario Bros. 2 plays out a little differently, though. Unlike the retail copy of the game, the ending in the beta version doesn’t show Mario dreaming. This is probably a result of the Doki Doki Panic ending being used and didn’t include the addition found in Mario Bros. 2’s closing sequence.
