A special preview airing of the new Pokemon movie took place in Japan earlier today. While that was happening, a new trailer for Pokemon X/Y was also shown.

We’re hearing that the video teased a special 3DS XL for release in Japan. Designs of Xerneas & Yveltal are featured on the top case, and it apparently comes in red and blue colors. The new Pokemon Orotto (or maybe Aulotte) is also rumored to have been shown during the trailer.

Earlier today, we successfully managed to disconnect the main site and forum. What does that mean for you? Not too much, honestly!

Aside from a change in the way NE handles comments, everything is pretty much the same. We’re now using Disqus – the same system that we previously implemented on Gaming Everything.

In order to participate in our discussions, you will indeed need a Disqus account. There’s a good chance that some of you are already registered, though. Sites like IGN use Disqus as well, so if you signed up for an account at any other time, that same account will work here (or on any other site using this system).

Disqus allows for a lot more functionality than we had in the past. You can vote on and favorite comments, sort comments in different ways, reply directly to someone else, or even share the discussion on Twitter and Facebook.

Register for Disqus here. It’s incredibly simple – just enter a name, email, and password. That’s it!

The old forum-based comments actually aren’t gone. While they won’t appear on the main site any longer due to the disconnect, they’re still around in the Nintendo Everything news forum. That board will remain open (for now anyway), and can be used by anyone for Nintendo-related news. We’ve opened it fully so that anyone can start a topic. If the news section becomes a superfluous area of the forum, we’ll simply retire it.

As always, feel free to ask any questions or voice any thoughts by commenting, emailing, or contacting us any other way you see fit!

SEGA’s latest media blast for Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai 2 included new details about the 3DS game. For a roundup of information, check out the summary below.

– More songs and costumes than the last game
– New touch screen mode
– Touch Mode from the first Project Mirai is back
– In addition to hitting the markers with the right timing that goes with the song, the more difficult settings will increase it up to three different marker colors
– For the thicker lines seen on the trail: hold down the touch screen part, and when it is rainbow-colored you’ll be required to spin it around in circles
– Markers with arrows pointing different directions need you to drag your stylus in the same direction on any part of the touch screen
– Classic Button Mode is also back from Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai with some new twists
– Will need to use the d-pad for certain keys in addition to the A, B, X, Y buttons
– Similar to the Touch Mode gameplay part, you’ll be required to hold down the buttons for the ticker lines
– The rainbow colored parts can be done by rotating the Circle Pad in circles
– 2 Line parts require both uses of the A, B, X, and Y buttons along with directional buttons, at the same time
– Vocal Change system back as well
– This lets you switch the Vocaloid singer
– You can hear Meiko, Miku, Rin and Kaito’s versions of the song
– One track is set in the night on the neon stage
– “1/6 -out of the gravity” track is said to lighten the heart of anyone who listens to it
– Track designs were done by Nendoroid and features an original Miku costume with large ribbons and a frilly dress

Watch_Dogs has been a long time coming from Ubisoft. In a recent interview, senior producer Dominic Guay confirmed that the project has been in the works since 2009.

Guay shared the development tidbit when asked about connections to the TV series “Person of Interest”.

He said:

“Actually we were many years into development when we heard of that show [Person of Interest] for the first time. Making a new IP like WATCH_DOGS is a long process and we started to craft our vision in early 2009.”

Because Ubisoft has been making Watch_Dogs since 2009, it has been in development for around four years.

Mario Kart 8 is slated for spring of 2014. When exactly the game will be hitting Wii U is unclear, as Nintendo has yet to share a specific date. However, in a recent newsletter from Nintendo of Europe, it’s mentioned that Mario Kart 8 is coming in April of next year.

You may remember that Mario Kart Wii launched in April way back in 2008. Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Mario Kart 8 will arrive during the same month.

As always, take this rumor with a grain of salt until Nintendo makes an official announcement.
