Satoru Iwata has posted his first-ever message to Miiverse. The Nintendo president took to the Miiverse Announcements section to provide details about the Wii U’s upcoming update.

An official video released last night – which can be viewed directly in the message – shows a significant improvement in load time when exiting a game. Iwata reconfirmed that Nintendo plans to reduce the time it takes to load software as well.

According to Iwata “it will take a little more time until we can release the update.” Nintendo still plans to provide the update sometime next month.

Finally, it was mentioned will be sharing announcements regarding Nintendo Direct through Miiverse.

You can find Iwata’s full post below.

Cult County, Renegade Kid’s new first-person shooter for the 3DS eShop, is about a year away from release. Studio co-founder Jools Watsham told Nintendo Life that a release is planned for early 2014.

Cult County may be a long ways off, but there is still plenty to look forward to from Renegade Kid. Mutant Mudds Deluxe is coming to Wii U in May or June, and the company may have a few other games up its sleeves for 2013. Treasurenauts could be one such title that will launch this year.

Crytek USA CEO David Adams, formally the head of Vigil Games, has supposedly relayed his intentions to bid on the Darksiders IP through a tweet earlier today.

Adams wrote:

Crytek USA will be looking to obtain the Darksiders IP from the now-defunct THQ. If the company does manage to acquire the series’ rights, Darksiders will essentially be returning to its original developer. Following the closing of Vigil Games after a lack of interest from buyers during the THQ auction, many of its staffers went on to join Crytek USA.

The one caveat in all of this is that we’re not quite sure if the Twitter account is the real deal. If it is, then Crytek USA will in fact be going after the Darksiders IP.

Nintendo is making a pretty big deal out of the Nintendo Web Framework. In fact, the company has an entire session dedicated to the technology at the Game Developers Conference this week.

So just what is it? According to an official description from the company, “Nintendo Web Framework is a development environment based on WebKit technologies, supporting application development on the Wii U system using HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS.” Basically, by using the tech, “development times will be reduced and Wii U applications can be easily developed”.

“The Nintendo Web Framework is a development environment based on WebKit technologies, supporting application development on the Wii U system using HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS. It also supports the Wii U GamePad controller, Wii Remote controllers, and JavaScript extensions such as video playback. With the Nintendo Web Framework, development times will be reduced and Wii U applications can be easily developed using common Web technologies. Combining the handy Wii U GamePad, the TV screen, and the Internet, the potential exists for the services and games you are developing to progress by leaps and bounds.”

Gunman Clive on the 3DS eShop has now outsold the iOS and Android versions combined, the game’s developer has confirmed. While sales have slowed slightly, creator Bertil Hörberg said “they’re still at very a nice level.”

He wrote:

“…the eShop sales have passed iOS and Android combined now. The sales are starting to show a slow but visible decline now though, but they’re still at very a nice level.”

Hörberg announced in January that the eShop release surpassed the iOS version in sales. A month later, the same milestone was confirmed in relation to the Android version.

ZombiU’s new patch is, as originally thought, largely an update that takes care of bugs. There are also a few other points to the patch such as framerate optimizations.
