ZombiU producer says touchscreen could help Wii U get further than Wii

Coming off of the Wii’s full unveiling in 2006, developers and consumers alike maintained a great deal of skepticism about the console. You could argue that the Wii U is now finding itself in a similar position.
Even so, ZombiU producer Guillaume Brunier believes that the new system could end up being more popular than its predecessor. Brunier pointed to the GamePad’s touchscreen as one factor that can help “get Wii U further than Wii got.”
Brunier said:
“When they released the Wii a few years ago, I don’t think developers–and Nintendo–anticipated how big it would become. I think this is going to be the case with the Wii U too. Touchscreen interfaces are so common to everyone right now, that having this as part of a gaming platform is really going to get Wii U further than Wii got.”

David Cox a little more open to Lords of Shadow 2 on Wii U
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 0 comments
When publications have asked David Cox about the possibility of bringing Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 to Wii U, he’s replied by saying that his team has no plans for Wii U.
Speaking with ONM, however, Cox sounded slightly more open to the idea. Although Cox wouldn’t confirm his new game for Wii U, he did say that it “would be cool” to see on the console.
Cox stated:
“At the moment there are no plans for a Wii U version. But never say never. It’d be cool, wouldn’t it?”
Anyone out there hoping that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will eventually wind up on Wii U?
Nintendo trademarks “The Last Ranger” in Europe

A few months ago, Nintendo filed a trademark for “The Last Ranger”. That was for Japan.
The company has followed up that initial trademark with a new filing in Europe.
It isn’t clear what Nintendo has in store for “The Last Ranger”, but if it’s an actual game, it sounds like it’ll be brought overseas.
