Harvest Moon: A New Beginning confirmed for North America

Natsume’s teasing games are over, and the company has at last revealed its title announcement.
The mystery game is Harvest Moon: A New Beginning. Natsume hasn’t shared any details or release date information yet, but it is promising more information during E3.
You’ll be able to play Harvest Moon: A New Beginning sometime in the future, hopefully by the end of the year.
More talk of no Unreal Engine 4 support for Wii U

Update: And here’s the latest from NowGamer:
“Epic Games has confirmed to NowGamer that it has yet to confirm which platforms Unreal Engine 4 will be compatible with – other than PC.”
A new tweet from industry insider and GT.TV host Geoff Keighley suggests that the Wii U won’t be able to run Unreal Engine 4.
Keighley, when asked if the technology would be compatibile with the new console, said “No, at GDC Mike Capps said Wii-U will be Unreal Engine 3.”
There had previously been some doubt about the engine’s ability to be supported on Wii U. Earlier this month, Epic Games founder Tim Sweeney said that the company is “aiming very high, and the intended platforms this is aimed at haven’t even been announced.”
Keighly does appear to be basing his information solely on knowledge gathered from Capps at GDC. That’s a bit odd, considering GT.TV will be featuring Unreal Engine 4 on its June 7 episode.
It could be possible that things may have changed since GDC. Also consider that the Wii U may also be able to support a modified version of the engine sometime down the road. At this point, we don’t know if any of the next-gen consoles will be running the technology at its full capabilities.

Havok dev on Wii U: Console has advantages that others don’t, lots more

During GDC 2012, Havok VP of Engineering Dave Gargan discussed the company’s support for Wii U. We found out that Havok’s physics and animation technology would be making its way to Nintendo’s new console a few months back.
Gargan had much to say about Nintendo in an interview published today. There are a ton of interesting tidbits sprinkled throughout.
Gargan opened up on Havok’s relationship Nintendo, the engine’s actual capabilities, its functionality on the 3DS, and Wii U, including a comment that “we’ll see things done on the Wii U that we won’t see on another platforms”. He also mentioned that the “Wii U has specific advantages that no other platform has”.

Natsume’s game announcement isn’t Lufia-related

Natsume has released yet another hint about its upcoming title announcement. On Twitter, the company confirmed that the game series doesn’t begin with the letter “L”.
That rules out Lufia, then! I’m sticking with Harvest Moon: The Land’s Origin localization as my guess for now…
Square Enix releases Japanese Kingdom Hearts 3D patch

Japanese players can download a patch for Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance from the eShop. Unlike the Mario Kart 7 update, however, it’s somewhat hidden in the store.
The patch download can be accessed by scanning the QR code shown in the first image above or by searching for “Kingdom Hearts 3D”.
With the update, the game will be updated to version 1.1. Square Enix corrected a number of bugs and other issues players had encountered.

Natsume shares more hints for upcoming title announcement

Natsume has dished out a couple of extra hints pertaining to its title announcement this week.
The company has further clarified that it will be related to a series in which it which it has published at least three previous entries in North America.
Natsume also sent out the following word teaser on Twitter:
“C_s__m_z____n i_ Ki__”
Customization is King seems to fit fairly well into the spaces.
The most likely candidate for an announcement is now Harvest Moon: The Land’s Origin. The 3DS title recently came out in Japan, and features extensive customization features.
