Nintendo is enforcing a 2GB file size limitation on the 3DS eShop according to Team Meat’s Tommy Refenes. This restriction would be much more reasonable than WiiWare’s 40MB limit.

In issue #72 of Nintendo Gamer, Refenes also said “Super Meat Boy would have been on WiiWare if we could have had just a few more megabytes of space”.

He told the magazine:

“[WiiWare’s] 40MB is horrible, but [3DS’s] 2GB is reasonable. Super Meat Boy would have been on WiiWare if we could have had just a few more megabytes of space – you can only compress stuff so much before you have to start cutting out huge parts of your game. Unfortunately, at that point, it just isn’t worth the time.”

Refenes wrapped up his comments by noting Team Meat would be interested in bringing their next game to the Wii U:

“If we can in the future, we’d like our next game to be on Wii U as well as everything else.”

Kingdom Hearts fans can expect the next game in the franchise to hit Europe this summer. Square Enix France told KHDestiny that Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance is “now set for a Summer 2012”.

A July 27 listing was added to the Kingdom Hearts 3D page over at the Square Enix Boutique earlier today. It has since been edited to a general “Summer 2012” timeframe.

XSEED sent out a bunch of tweets about The Last Story on Friday. The company answered questions about a Limited Edition, pre-order bonuses/exclusives, and also said that more information will be shared next month.

XSEED tweeted the following:

“Re: an LE – We’re still in the process of planning what we can do for the North American release and nothing has been finalized yet. …But IF we did have an LE, I hear it’s easy to switch pre-orders.”

“Regarding pre-order bonuses or exclusives, we don’t have anything planned for that as far as I know.”

“I should have some more news for you guys later into March, so stay tuned.”

It usually takes a while for Pokemon titles to be announced for North America following a Japanese reveal. That isn’t the case with Black/White 2, though.

A new page has been added to the English Pokemon site, confirming the localization of Black/White 2 for North America.

The page states:

“Pokémon fans, get excited for two incredible new adventures! Announcing Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2, coming soon for the Nintendo DS™ family of systems. The games can also be played in 2D on the Nintendo 3DS™ system.

“Keep checking Pokemon.com for details, including news, images, and videos, which will be revealed throughout the year.”

Thanks to SuperPhillip for the tip!

An official website for Pokemon Black/White 2 has opened following the announcement on Pokemon Smash.

The site confirms a couple of things. First, as we previously stated, the game is in development for the DS. Obviously players will be able to experience the titles on their 3DS systems as well. It has also been revealed that Black/White 2 are hitting Japan this June. So really, the games are just a few months away from launch!

You can find the site here.
