We now have a follow-up report on Nintendo’s rumored September 13 event. Inside Games is adding to the speculation, claiming that their sources say that an extremely big title will be announced next month. They aren’t sure if the reveal will be taking place on September 13, however, nor do they know if that’s when the rumored 3DS conference will take place. It does seem that the event will be taking place sometime in September though.

Could Nintendo be planning a fall-like conference for the 3DS? Well, we aren’t entirely sure that it’s a conference, though investors are under the impression that an important event will be held on September 13.

This rumored event has actually caused a boost in Nintendo stock today, which, at one point, rose to 9.7% above yesterday’s level.

Nintendo held a “Fall Conference” in late September of last year. While the 3DS was a huge focus, the company also took time to talk briefly about Wii – and confirmed Wii Remote Plus. New games were also announced after the show ended.

The way I see it, there are two parts to making a game: Making the gameplay, and making the atmosphere. These two parts are integral to any great game design, but each one encompasses a totally different set of things. Gameplay includes things like controls, level design, etc, while the atmosphere can encompass everything from the graphics to the music, to the sound effects and character animations. Both are important parts of game design, and when a developer can bring together a perfect balance of the two, we get games that are so full of magic and wonder, we feel like we can never put them down. These, in my opinion, are games like The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and Banjo Kazooie.

Take a closer look at our fun-filled new Wii bundle

Unveiled last week at the gamescom trade fair in Cologne, Germany, a brand new Wii bundle is making its way to Europe in October 2011.

The new bundle presents customers with a chance to pick up a newly configured version of the Wii console along with two great games the whole family can enjoy. Players can look forward to unboxing copies of two great family games in the shape of Wii Sports and Wii Party.

Nicalis has produced content for WiiWare, DSiWare, and is currently developing Cave Story 3D for 3DS. If their website is any indication, they’ll probably work on Wii U down the line as well. On the site’s “About” section, Nicalis states that they can officially create titles for the platform.

“We’re licensed on most major platforms like Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, Sony PSP, iOS, OS X, Android and almost everything else inbetween.”

01Net has published a couple of new rumors about the 3DS. As we saw with Wii U, they have been spot on with some of their speculation, but inaccurate in some instances. With that said, don’t put too much stock into these rumors just yet.

The first rumor 01Net has shared is that the Nintendo is preparing a 3DS attachment that would act as a right analog stick. Shigeru Miyamoto has previously said that the company intentionally left out the additional circle pad because they felt that players use their fingers to play, and that would essentially replicate the same experience.

Here’s the relevant excerpt from the 01Net article:

We found out earlier today that Xenoblade Chronicles made it into the top ten rankings of the UK charts. It was unclear, however, how many units were  sold. Although we still don’t have a precise figure, it seems that the title sold less than 6,600 units.

This is just one territory in Europe, so I wouldn’t be too disappointed about these sales. Also, it’s an encouraging sign that the game sold under 6,600 copies in a about a day and was still the third best-selling game on the individual formats chart. We’ll have to continue watching Xenoblade’s sales over the next few weeks.
