A lot has been said about how players can’t naturally remove saved data in Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D. However, as I hinted at a few days ago, this is not the only 3DS game to implement the restriction.

BlazBlue Continuum Shift II, Super Monkey Ball 3D and Pro Evolution Soccer 3D all feature permasaves apparently. It’s kind of strange to see people making a fuss over Mercenaries when there are other titles out there that were released previously with a similar saving method, though I suppose the outcry is more prominent since Resident Evil is a significant franchise.

I wonder if we’ll see any future 3DS games use permasaves. My guess would be no, or at least not many titles, as publishers would probably like to avoid the same type of backlash Capcom experienced…

The 3DS and PSP versions of UnchainBlades Rexx are 95% similar. Okay, that’s not an exact percentage, but yes, the games are incredibly similar.

Furyu, the game’s publisher, notes that the only difference is the usage of map information. On 3DS, the map is always displayed on the bottom display whereas the PSP requires users to toggle the map/mini-map in the center of the screen.

Other than that, the two versions are identical!

Update: Added in a higher-quality video. And just to avoid any potential confusion, this is footage from the UK version of the game. Don’t hold your breath for a North American release…

Making 3DS screenshots available for viewing on the 3DS is becoming a common practice now. Heck, even publishers are getting in on the act! I believe Nicalis actually released a 3D image for Cave Story 3D recently.

In any case, just head on over to this link on your 3DS browser and hopefully you’ll see some magic on the screen…
