This information comes from Charlie Scibetta, Senior Director of Corporate Communications for Nintendo of America…

“Nintendo of America has booked meeting room space at the 2011 CES but ..will not be making any announcements about current or upcoming products during the show.”

Quite a few people were hoping that Nintendo would share some information about the 3DS at CES, but it doesn’t look like that’ll happen. In any case, we know the company will share information sometime in the near future. The system is coming out in March, so it’d be best to reveal a North American release date and price at least a couple of months before it launches.

Strategy and skill is the key to success in Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem!

25th November 2010 – Put your strategy skills to the test and help Mario (and his Mini Marios) rescue Pauline from the notorious Donkey Kong when Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem!, a puzzle-based adventure for Nintendo DS, launches across Europe on 4th February 2011.

The newest instalment in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series sees Mario opening a shiny new theme park and inviting his friend Pauline as a special guest for the event. But the peace and fun is soon interrupted when the unhappy Donkey Kong decides to kidnap Pauline right under Mario’s nose!

This information comes from Double Fine’s website…

“Most of my all time favorite games are Nintendo games. I have touched Shigeru Miyamoto with my bare hands!!! (He was very soft and pleasant.) Double Fine would love to make something for Nintendo’s fine machine, but it’s not up to us. It’s the publisher’s money, so they get to decide what platform to invest in. In other words, IT’S NOT OUR FAULT! I personally would have loved to make Psychonauts for the Game Cube. (Well, not literally me personally. I would have loved to tell someone else to make it, and I would have loved to watch them do it, and I would have loved yelling, “Faster! Faster!” as they worked.) I really hope we get a chance to make a game for the Wii some day. Why don’t you spam your favorite publisher with mail right now and ask them to send us money to make a Wii game? (And a little extra money for a pool table?)” – Tim Schafer

Double Fine has made a few fantastic titles over the past decade. There’s Psychonauts of course, and Brutal Legend more recently. The funny thing is, we did hear a few rumors about that title coming to Wii, although it was supposedly being made by a different developer.

As you may have noticed, the posts we’ve added to the site have started to slow down. Of course, that’s because tomorrow is Thanksgiving! We’ll most likely see less and less news starting tomorrow, and that’ll last until Monday. It’s possible that we’ll still see a few notices from Europe, and I’m sure there’ll be some news from Japan as well. On the whole, though, I’m not expecting too much.

I’ll still be around to cover things for the most part, but I’ll be treating the next couple of days somewhat like a weekend. I’m not entirely sure what my schedule will be like exactly, so we’ll see. Hopefully you guys will spend some time with your family/friends! I’ll be heading off to see the new Harry Potter film at some point (I know, that’s not really something most people do on Thanksgiving), watching a few football games (go Jets!), and having a nice, quiet dinner.

In any case, don’t eat too much turkey, and enjoy your Thanksgiving if you’re celebrating!
