Nintendo warns against using “unauthorized services” such as online Wii U replacement
Posted on 10 months ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Wii U | 0 comments
A statement was posted on social media today in which Nintendo is cautioning fans against using “unauthorized services”. Specifics weren’t shared, but the company acknowledged that there are ways to continue playing Wii U games online. Nintendo claims that using these services “may pose unexpected security risks.”
Online support for Wii U – as well as 3DS – was discontinued last April. But there are ways to circumvent that. The open-source project Pretendo was previously established for this very reason, offering online functionality via custom servers and “clean-room reverse engineering.” Users need to hack their device in order to use the service.
Rumor: Nintendo Switch 2 TFLOPS and clock speed tech specs leaked
Posted on 10 months ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Switch 2 | 0 comments
New tech specs for Nintendo Switch 2 are claimed to have made their way online that reveal the TFLOPS and clock speeds of the console.
It’s tough to nail down the actual source of where today’s numbers are coming from. The details were posted on various social channels and places such as Reddit and Famiboards, and people are taking it seriously enough to the point where it’s apparently worth considering. There’s also talk surrounding a Nintendo Switch 2 SDK leak – which could be where the numbers originate.
Freedom Wars Remastered review for Nintendo Switch
Posted on 10 months ago by Dawn in Reviews, Switch | 0 comments
System: Switch
Release date: January 10, 2025
Developer: Dimps
Publisher: Bandai Namco
Despite the overwhelming and uncontested success of the Nintendo 3DS, I have always felt as though Sony gave up on the PlayStation Vita far too soon, and Freedom Wars is a fine illustration of this point. Originally released in 2014, the game went on to become one of the most successful first-party published titles for the system in Japan and easily filled the void left by the departure of Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise to Nintendo systems. With its post-apocalyptic dystopian setting, more detailed narrative, and varied mission structure that went beyond simply hunting large single targets over and over again, it felt like the next step for hunting-style action RPGs, limited only by its chosen platform. Playing through the game again over a decade later, Freedom Wars Remastered holds up surprisingly well.
