Switch 2

where to pre-order Nintendo Switch 2

Following a delay, Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders are about to begin in the United States – and Canada. Reservations have been open elsewhere, but aside from a few select games, that’s not been the case stateside.

Major retailers are set to open Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders this week, April 24. Some listings will be going live as soon as the clock strikes midnight on the East Coast. Most of the big stores should have Nintendo Switch 2 available, but there’s likely a big exception. Nintendo and Amazon have seemingly been feuding again over the past year, so the console itself – and probably first-party titles – are unlikely to be up for pre-order there.

In this post, we’re providing a full roundup on where and how to pre-order Nintendo Switch 2. With various placeholder listings already live, this should come in handy.

Today, HORI unveiled a brand new camera accessory for Nintendo Switch 2 that’s compatible in handheld mode.

GameChat is a big new feature Nintendo is promoting for its upcoming platform. With it, you can stream games you’re playing with friends. On top of that, you can chat while playing.

Sonic x Shadow Generations upgrade Nintendo Switch 2

With Sonic x Shadow Generations set to launch soon on Nintendo Switch 2, SEGA has confirmed that there is no upgrade planned for Switch 1 players.

That news comes directly from the official website. A note on one of the pages states: “The Nintendo Switch version cannot be upgraded to the Nintendo Switch 2 version.” This also applies to DLC, SEGA says.

Nintendo Switch 2 game sizes

April 4: Nintendo has shared the first wave of Switch 2 file sizes, revealing how big Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and more are.

Switch 2 demand My Nintendo Store Japan

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa shared a statement today about Japanese pre-orders on the My Nintendo Store in light of significant interest that exceeded the company’s expectations.

According to Furukawa, 2.2 million people registered interest in reserving the system through its official website. That number “far exceeds our expectations and far exceeds the number of Nintendo Switch 2 consoles that can be delivered from the My Nintendo Store on June 5,” Furukawa said. Many customers won’t be selected, but will be automatically enrolled for a second lottery later on.

April 9: A key detail about Switch 2’s GameCube controller is seemingly confirmed. As it turns out, the device will apparently be compatible with just the upcoming Nintendo Classics app.

That information is included in Nintendo’s official video announcing GameCube games on Nintendo Switch 2. Since it’s only shown in the fine print of the UK upload (it’s not in the North American version), you may have missed it last week – in fact, it seems most people did.

Although there haven’t been any announcements, Blizzard is leaving the door open to Diablo 4 on Nintendo Switch 2.

Rod Fergusson, who is overseeing the franchise, has said that porting it over is “something to look at”. It seems that the hardware itself is not the issue – rather, it’s about ensuring that the system 2 can fully support live services.

Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders France

We don’t have specific date as of now for Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders, but new information from one of France’s biggest retailers has provided interesting insight. New information was shared as part of an interview with Frandroid.

First, regarding hardware, we’re hearing that hardware sales are at a historical level. Unsurprisingly, the Mario Kart World bundle is extremely popular. Consumers can save a decent amount of cash by picking up that package as opposed to purchasing the system and game separately.
