Wii U eShop

Nintendo’s website confirms one of next week’s digital releases for North America. On November 12, Girls Like Robots will be available on the Wii U eShop.

Here’s an overview:

Ridiculous seating arrangement puzzles, wrapped in an epic tale of love and danger, topped off with an authentic old-time stringband soundtrack!

Their faces are the playing pieces. The rules are their emotions. Put every one next to their friends.

Customize every face in the game with dozens of swappable parts.

Better yet: Use the Wii U™ GamePad’s camera to capture the varied emotions of your friends and family (or enemies or those towards which you feel indifferent).

Did we mention competitive pass-and-play local multiplayer?! It’s like playing chess but every piece is a picture of you sticking your tongue out.

But you can’t please everybody all the time. Sometimes you gotta break hearts to save the day. And the day definitely needs saving: Volcanoes, exploding chickens, planetary invasion and a boy who just wants to dance with a girl.

Pricing for Girls Like Robots is set at $6.99.

Nintendo released official videos for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and Star Luster on the Japanese Wii U Virtual Console. Watch them below.

Natsume won’t be bringing any additional titles to the North American Wii U Virtual Console this year. Instead, we’ll need to wait until 2016 for any additional titles. That means we won’t be seeing the likes of Medabots: Rokusho/Metabee and the two Medabots AX games until a couple of months from now at the very least.

Interacting with fans on Twitter, Natsume said:

Medabots: Rokusho and Metabee have been available in Europe since October. The Medabots AX games are due out in the region this Thursday.

Swapnote’s Nikki lives! Well, sort of.

WayForward recently issued a new Shantae: Half-Genie Hero update to its Kickstarter backers, showing off the fan-made enemy called “Ikki”. The character, with its design and name, is a clear homage to the 3DS application’s guide.

Nintendo rolled out Swapnote in 2011 as a way for 3DS owners to message their friends. However, it was shut down about two years later. Nintendo said in its announcement that Swapnote had been used by some to “exchange offensive material,” and felt that ending the SpotPass feature would be the best way to remedy the situation.
