ManderZ Quest

Indie developer Yeti Boom is working on “ManderZ Quest” for the Wii U eShop. The title as well as the game itself are both a work in progress.

Below is an official overview of ManderZ Quest:

Due to a glitch in a game’s code, ManderZ and her friends have found themselves trapped inside a “GamerGirl Color” handheld gaming console. It’s up to you to save them!

Playing as ManderZ, you’ll work your way through 8 crazy, classic-style levels, defeating enemies, bosses, and ultimately fixing the glitch that sent them to this strange game world.

As a tribute to the Game Boy Color, ManderZ Quest features 8-bit graphics and music. The developer is making use of the same 4-color limitations, and is using the original 160×144 screen resolution as a base. Additionally, music is being composed on and recorded from an original Game Boy DMG-01.

ManderZ Quest is early on in development, so a release date won’t be coming any time soon. However, Yeti Boom has promised that the game will be a Wii U exclusive.

Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition is out today on the Wii U eShop. For a successful download, you’ll need to reserve 802MB of space. That’s far from the smaller eShop games, but it’s not too large either!

Often times a game will get delayed and the reasons remain withheld from the consumer even after the game sees it’s final release. Fuzzy Wuzzy Games have gone the opposite route, detailing exactly what they’ve been up to since delaying Armillo. The screenshot highlights the graphical push they were able to achieve with the extra time which looks to be the new standard for the final product.
