Tales producer says series could have a future on Wii U if it becomes more successful and fans flock to the system
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 0 comments
Namco Bandai is keeping all mainline Tales entries on the PlayStation 3 for the time being. That’s because the franchise’s “main target audience” lies within the system.
Tales series producer Hideo Baba has already praised the Wii U, calling it “brilliant“. Therefore, “if it becomes more and more successful in the future”, Baba can see an entry possibly landing on the Wii U.
Baba told Destructoid:
“Our main target audience for the Tales franchise is still ultimately Japan, so when we make a game we want to target our main fanbase. So we like the idea of the Wii U — we think it’s a great system — and if it becomes more and more successful in the future that’s a console we would like to tap eventually, but for the time being we don’t have any plans and we are focused on maintaining our fanbase on PlayStation 3. It’s not really about our opinions on whether or not it’s a good system; ultimately it becomes a question of, ‘What consoles do our fans have?'”

Nintendo to host ‘Nintendo Games Seminar’ for university students in Japan, first time in three years
Posted on 12 years ago by Austin(@NE_Austin) in General Nintendo, News, Podcast Stories, Wii U, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
For those unaware (like I was until this morning!), Nintendo used to host something they called “Nintendo Games Seminar” at the University of Japan where they would help and encourage aspiring game developers to make games of higher quality with a higher success rate. It was a way for Nintendo to not only influence the direction that young developers would take with their careers, but also to find new talent to hire when the seminar was over. Now, they’re restarting the program:
– Seminar will run from July 2013 to March 2014
– Must be an under/post-graduate student at a University in or around Tokyo or Osaka
– 12 participants per location (Tokyo/Osaka)
– Choose between programming, graphic design, or sound
– Seminar will focus on developing games with Nintendo’s “Web Framework”
– More details on May 13th

The latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation contains a promotion for its upcoming Nintendo sister publication. On April 20, the first ever edition of Dengeki Nintendo will be published. Included in the ad is a teaser indicating that GungHo’s Puzzle and Dragons will be coming to a Nintendo platform.
News has since leaked that the series is heading to the 3DS – specifically Puzzle & Dragons Z. We don’t have the specifics just yet, but I imagine that we’ll be hearing something more concrete soon.
