I was just saying the other day how frustrating it is that we still don’t know much about Darksiders II (and other Wii U games) even though Nintendo has a new console coming out in just a few months. You guys probably feel the same way, and so does Vigil Games, the developer of Darksiders II.

In a lengthy exchange with VideoGamer, Darksiders II lead designer Haydn Dalton talked about how he wishes he could just come out and talk about Wii U. There’s other talk about the console as well – the GamePad’s screen, developers supporting it down the road, and more.

We’ve posted the full Q&A with Dalton below.

GameTrailers editor in chief Shane Satterfield has offered some insight into the Wii U’s pricing situation. If he’s to believed, Nintendo will be pricing the console at $299.

Speaking on the latest episode of “Invisible Walls”, Satterfield said:

“We’re going to assume that the Wii U is going to cost $299. And I have heard through certain channels that that is likely going to be the price of the system.”

Most consumers would certainly welcome a $299 price tag. But it’s unclear if any items would be bundled into the package. Some potential buyers are hoping that Nintendo Land will be provided as a bonus, similar to how Wii Sports came with each Wii console when the system launched.

It appears that Slightly Mad Studios and Gamagio are bringing “Biker Bash” to Wii U (probably through the eShop) as well as Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and Steam.

While an official announcement hasn’t been made, a comprehensive document has been discovered outlining the game’s numerous features and various elements.

The document describes Biker Bash as “a bike racing game that  combines classic gameplay from titles like ROAD RASH/MOTORSTORM with modern fighting mechanics from STREETFIGHTER IV/FIGHT NIGHT and drags it kicking and screaming into the 21st Century with next-gen graphics, gameplay, and social features… all at a downloadable price point.”

Included in Biker Bash are various single-player and multiplayer modes, competitive gameplay with friends, combat during racing, weapons and power-ups, items and upgrades, and more. Also mentioned is a RAGE meter that, when filled, can be used to “Rage Boost” past the competition or eliminate others on the race track.

Images from the document can be found above. You can also view the entire PDF here.

When Wii U arrives, it could have another high-quality title launch. Tomorrow Corp’s Kyle Gray has said that the team hopes to have Little Inferno available as soon as Nintendo’s new console hits store shelves.

As far as Wii U exclusive features go, Gray said:

“We’re tinkering with some features, but one thing we know for certain is that it will be the only version to exclusively have a Wii U logo.”

Gray commented on the 3DS as well. When asked if the team has any interest in developing for the handheld, Gray noted:

“It seems like it could be a good fit, but we won’t know until we have some time to tinker with it.”

Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada has fielded three important topics concerning Wii U.

He was recently asked about the Wii U version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, his thoughts on the console being next-gen, and Namco Bandai’s involvement with the next Smash Bros. release.

On Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Harada discussed some of ideas he’s been thinking about for the GamePad. Also mentioned was console exclusives, such as the already-revealed “Mushroom Mode”.

As for the power of Wii U, Harada said “the graphics chips seems to be pretty decent”. But he feels that people are focusing too much on specs while not considering the system’s capabilities and features. Harada personally likes the idea of being able to take a full-fledged game, put it in the GamePad screen, and continue playing it elsewhere if someone needs access to the TV.

Lastly, Smash Bros. Harada doesn’t believe that fans should be concerned about its development since Masahiro Sakurai is handling game design. Harada won’t be too involved since he’ll be occupied with the Tekken series.

Harada also has no plans to push for certain characters from series such as Tekken and SoulCalibur. He stated, “The sole decision will probably be made in a way that if more people want Tekken characters in it then Sakurai might choose to do so, if not then so be it.”

Head on below for all of Harada’s comments about Wii U.

Square Enix intends to update Dragon Quest X on a regular basis. Earlier today, producer Yosuke Saito tweeted that major updates will be introduced once every ten weeks.

What can players expect with these updates? While nothing has been confirmed specifically, Dragon Quest X will receive new gameplay systems and play elements with each new release.

On top of the updates, Square Enix will prepare weekly quests downloads that contain story elements.

Not all versions of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will feature the same characters.

New comments from Sumo Digital’s Steve Lycett indicate that there will be 29 characters in total across all of the games. But some versions will offer a roster in the “high 20s” while others will be in the “low 20s”.

Lycett said:

“The thing is, different people think of different things when you say ‘How many characters are in the game’.

“Are we talking about playable choices, drivers, vehicle forms, which platform are we talking about, what?

“Me, I go with actual playable choices on the character select. Over all the different platforms, this totals up to 29 actual playable choices. But that doesn’t mean that there are 29 playable choices in all platforms (in fact no single platform has all 29). Some drop down to the low 20?s, some instead have high 20?s.

“Why is this? Well some platforms have characters that are unique to that platform. I’m not going to say which, that’s part of the fun of the reveals! Some are SEGA characters, some are not. Don’t bother asking :p”
