The Japanese release date for Yoshi’s Woolly World has leaked out ahead of today’s Nintendo Direct, which will begin in just a short while.

According to Amazon Japan, it’ll launch on July 16. Amazon actually lists July 15, though that’s for the downloadable version. The eShop edition of Nintendo’s games tend to arrive a couple of hours before midnight of a game’s release. That means we can assume that the “true” launch is slated for July 15.

Update (5/31): It shouldn’t come as a surprise, but there are no plans for FIFA 16 on Wii U. It won’t be on Wii either,.

FIFA games have been appearing on Nintendo’s portable systems for over a decade. However, with FIFA 16, the streak is coming to a close.

EA confirmed to Pocket Gamer that the latest entry won’t be on the 3DS (or PS Vita for that matter). FIFA 12 up through FIFA 15 all launched on the handheld.

EA didn’t say why it decided to stop supporting the 3DS when it comes to the FIFA franchise, but the company is likely opting to focus on the mobile release instead.

The Cutting Room Floor is known for its ability to unearth data and information from games that wouldn’t be accessible under normal circumstances. In the case of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, the site has found several lines of unused text that points to an unused feature in which users could upload videos to YouTube.

Here’s the full lineup of text:

Convert the replay data into a video and post it? This requires a Google account.
(Note: This process may take longer than the duration of the replay.)
Cancel the conversion process?

Replays you’ve downloaded can be found in the Vault.
By connecting to Nintendo Network, you can send your replay to friends or show it off to the world.

Mario Kart 8 lets players upload race highlights to YouTube, so I don’t see why Smash Bros. wouldn’t allow for the same thing. Is the text above from a scrapped feature? Or will the functionality be added in down the line via an update?

Splatoon features a 1-on-1 local multiplayer mode called “Battle Dojo”. One player handles the GamePad, while the other uses a Wii U Pro Controller, Classic Controller, or Classic Controller Pro.

As it turns out, the second player can actually enable a motion control setup thanks to a special input. With the unique code, that person can use a Wiimote with the Classic Controller or Classic Controller Pro to turn on motion controls.

As outlined by Nintendo in a Tumblr update:

One of our scientists has made a rather stunning discovery! From early reports, it appears to be a means of adding motion control to the controller of the player playing on the TV screen in Battle Dojo. On the controller selection screen for Battle Dojo, press and hold down on the +Control Pad, press and hold B, and then press ZR and ZL.

It seems a Wii Remote Plus is necessary to perform this incredible feat. This technique also appears to be possible when using a Classic Controller or Classic Controller Pro! When using a Wii U Pro Controller, first press ZL and ZR to select that as your controller, and then press the 2 Button on the Wii Remote Plus to activate it.
