If a game is going to let me rip across a futuristic planetscape in a mech suit and decimate a seemingly endless array of robotic and rancid foes, really the only thing it needs to do is make those core actions feel as satisfying as possible. Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion is a game of many parts, but if there’s one concept it absolutely nails, it’s a simple one: blasting aliens in a high-tech exosuit should be exciting. At the same time, this sequel to Kenichiro Tsukuda’s 2019 combat-action game embraces the philosophy of “bigger is better,” expanding upon the original game’s mission-based structure with a massive open world to explore, layers upon layers of systems to learn, and seemingly endless ways to build a space-age war machine. It’s also one of the first multiplatform games of this scale to launch day-and-date on Nintendo Switch 2, making it an exciting litmus test for what the console might be capable of.

Nintendo released a new video today showcasing a few European digital game highlights from August 2025. Some of the highlighted titles include Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World, Drag x Drive, and more.

Here’s the new video:

In a recent news post sent out to Switch owners, Nintendo provided a listing of the top 15 European eShop downloads for July 2025.

Over on Nintendo Switch 2, it’s no surprise that Donkey Kong Bananza lands at #1 as the big release for the month. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 also seemed to do fairly well as it slots in right behind. The new Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Super Mario Party Jamboree is a bit slower as it just misses the top ten.

The full list of Europe’s top 15 downloads on the Nintendo Switch eShop for both Switch and Switch for July 2025 is as follows:

Hollow Knight Silksong release date

August 21: After a very long wait, Hollow Knight: Silksong finally received its release date today. Team Cherry just revealed that it’s due out on September 4, 2025.

Hollow Knight: Silksong has had an interesting development history, to say the least. Originally, it was planned as DLC for the series’ first entry before it was turned into its own game.

We’re in September, which means there’s a new set of classic icons available on Nintendo Switch Online – and now it’s time for Fire Emblem and F-Zero to shine. They’ll be up for the whole month.

Both of these have a “play to unlock” requirement. That means you’ll need to boot up F-Zero on the SNES app and Fire Emblem on the GBA app in order for them to be made available. Note that for Fire Emblem, you’ll need to be a part of the Expansion Pack tier on Nintendo Switch Online.

The next Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch update is now live with version 20.4.0 starting to make its way out to all system owners.

The past few updates have been about stability improvements. Once again, that’s what we’re getting here. If you were hoping for new Nintendo Switch 2 features or functionality, you might be left disappointed.

Nintendo’s official notice is as follows:

In a new interview, Capcom president and Haruhiro Tsujimoto shared some brief thoughts about Nintendo Switch 2, commenting that the response to the system was better than the company anticipated.

Tsujimoto remarks were interesting as they came about somewhat unprompted. He was recently asked about Monster Hunter Wilds and the game’s sales. While that title has sold ten million units, Capcom needs to find a way to push beyond that.
