Wii U eShop

Ezekiel Rage is gearing up to launch a new game for Wii U going by the name “Citadale: Gate of Souls”. The 8-bit action game is already with Nintendo’s lot check, meaning we should be seeing it on the eShop soon.

Here’s an overview:

Step into the hellouse once again. Citadale is a classic retro 8bit action game in the veins of so many NES classics. Vampires, zombies and other creatures of the night await. What a horrible night to have a curse.

You are Sonja Dorleac, a young woman on a mission to stop the local Dark Lord from plunging the lands into the darkness. Armed with the Shadow Blade, a legendary sword given to her by her husband and her wits, she sets out to restore peace to the lands.

Designed for use with the Wii U gamepad, this game gives you total control over your gameplay experience. The full level layout on the TV allows you to see hidden rooms and enemies that attack from above or below while the gamepad shows you the close surroundings of your character. Switch between different viewpoints to always see what you need to in order to survive the journey.

The game supports Off-TV play, the Wii U Pro Controller, The Wii Remote and the Wii Classic Controller as well as Miiverse posting.

And a trailer:

SteamWorld Heist has been out on 3DS for a few months, but Image & Form has since turned its efforts to other versions of the game. You can see what the HD release – which will be on Wii U – looks like below.

Sneaky Ninja remains in the works, and Starfall Studios provided a substantial update today by going over the game’s second chapter, Bento Plains. This area “is all about farmland, which brings a host of new farm-themed level mechanics”. In Bento Plains, you can hide in grain/rise, use animals to your benefit, and take shelter in barns.

You can read Starfall Studios’ full blog post here. The next update will cover he snow level, Shiro Mountain.

RCMADIAX has dated its new game Splashy Duck for the Wii U eShop. The title is set to arrive on June 23 in North America, Europe, and Australia.

Bandai Namco version brought out a new version of Lost Reavers yesterday, which introduced some new content including a demon stage. Footage of the level has since been posted online. View some gameplay below.

Tomorrow’s North American Virtual Console titles are now confirmed. On Wii U, we’ll be getting Metroid Prime: Hunters. Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie’s Double Trouble is due out for New 3DS.

Here’s an overview of Metroid Prime: Hunters:

A ferocious race, now extinct, has left behind relics of its once-powerful warrior culture. Now six other fierce bounty hunters from across the galaxy will challenge Samus in a race to claim these relics in hopes of harnessing their power for themselves.

And Donkey Kong Country 3:

Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong have gone missing! As Dixie Kong checks in with the rest of the family, she gets stuck with babysitting duties! But that won’t stop her from going on her next adventure!

Play as Dixie Kong or Kiddy Kong solo, against a friend, or with a friend! Take advantage of each of their unique abilities as they throw each other into action in over 40 levels. There are plenty of collectibles—including Bear Coins, which grant access to the services of the Brothers Bear, and Banana Birds, which Wrinkly Kong has a deep fondness for. You can also call on Funky Kong to build some wild vehicles for you to try to get to places that seem far out of reach. Not to mention there are animal friends to fight at your side! The final showdown takes place in a cliff-top laboratory at the End of the World. Things could get seriously ugly, so you’d better be ready!

Pricing for Metroid Prime: Hunters is set at $9.99. Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie’s Double Trouble will set you back $7.99.
