A lot of people sell their in-game MMO items for real money. It’s sort of common among players of games like World of Warcraft, with some entire accounts netting hundreds (or even thousands!) of dollars for people. Square Enix, however, doesn’t want any of that going on in their Dragon Quest MMO, Dragon Quest X.
So far, the company has “seized” 19.2 million “gold” from being sold and has closed the accounts that were attempting to make some profit from a game they didn’t make. Whoever was buying the gold was probably planning on using it to build a house, buy some land, or get some cool new weapons.
This stuff sounds awfully silly to me! Doesn’t Square Enix have anything better to worry about!?

This magazine scan, which is apparently taken from an upcoming issue of “Jump” magazine (perhaps someone with more knowledge of Japanese magazines could shed some light on which one) suggests that Square-Enix will be porting the seventh game in the Dragon Quest series to the 3DS. Originally released for the Playstation in 2000 , this remake looks like it will be ditching the sprites and 3D backgrounds in favour of a fully 3D graphical style. It also seems like it will be shown off at the upcoming Jump Festa later in the year.
We’re still waiting on confirmation from Square-Enix on whether this scan is legitimate or not. It certainly seems strange that this wasn’t announced during last week’s Japanese Nintendo Direct presentation, especially since it will apparently be released in February.
Edit: Incorrectly stated that the scan came from Famitsu. I should probably go to sleep soon.

Despite the fact that it just launched today, Ubisoft’s highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed 3 received a patch this morning that fixes an absolutely absurd amount of things. How they didn’t catch this stuff prior to release is beyond me, but essentially the patch just plugs a ton of holes in a ship that would have been sinking upon departure. If you want the list of things that it fixes (PS360 only so far), go to our sister site.
The real question is whether or not this is going to affect Wii U owners who decide to purchase the game in a few weeks. I can’t find any information on it just yet, but if anything crops up I’ll be sure to let you know. I guess what it comes down to is whether or not Ubisoft pressed the Wii U version of the game alongside the other versions.

Note: I’m posting this now because I’m leaving to go do Halloween-y things now (yea, on a Sunday– I spent my Saturday doing this podcast for you!). I’ll sticky it overnight and all that good stuff.
Despite this episode being recorded at 1AM, I think it was actually pretty good! Maybe we should do more of them really late at night… We discussed ZombiU (and whether it’s going to “Red Steel” us), do all of the regular segments, and give our top five scariest games that we’ve played!
In yet another homage to classic Zelda games, Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d you steal our garbage?!! will let you replay the game on a harder difficulty upon beating it the first time. If they’re taking as much inspiration from Zelda’s “second quest” mode as we can hope, chances are it will also be absolutely mind-numbingly difficult.
A demo of the game arrives on the Nintendo 3DS eShop on November 15th, and the game comes out on November 20th.
Some bad news for you guys: Valay just texted me and let me know that he finally lost power entirely, which means he is completely unable to access the sites (NE and GE) until further notice. The small glimmer in this otherwise dark patch is that I live in a completely different part of the country, so I should be able to keep things updating as they normally would. Things might be a little slow at times (I’m not used to this schedule; apologies), and I might miss certain things (if you have a tip, please use the contact form and send it to me; it’s a great help!), but for the most part I’m hoping you guys barely notice a difference!
Wish me luck in posting, and wish Valay even more luck in getting his power back. I’d imagine he’s already bored out of his mind!
