Here’s something that I find quite surprising. Believe it or not, Marvelous is doing their best to bring Senran Kagura to North America. Toshinori Aoki, Executive Managing Director of Digital Contents, said in a recent interview that “We are certainly looking to bring this over to America and we’re working hard to do so.”

It should be interesting to see what the ESRB thinks about Senran Kagura. I’m sure that if it does somehow make its way to North America, it’ll be rated M.

“With any of our games, if we can find a partner in the West that we can publish with be it Senran Kagura or No More Heroes. If there is somebody we can sell it with, partner with, and find a market with then we definitely want to push forward. Senran Kagura is no different.” – Daniel Kurtz, Business Development Coordinator

Between this and Kirby Mass Attack, my handheld gaming needs are filled for the month of September!

Torrance, Calif. (September 9, 2011) – Fans will soon take to the skies! XSEED Games, an independent-minded publisher, is pleased to announce today that the upcoming action RPG title, Solatorobo: Red the Hunter for the Nintendo DS™ handheld system has gone gold and is slated to ship to retailers across North America on September 27, 2011. The game will give players the option to play in English, Spanish, and French. The first run copies of Solatorobo: Red the Hunter will contain a bonus soundtrack CD at an MSRP of $34.99. To help celebrate the upcoming launch, XSEED Games is launching the official product web site, www.solatorobo.com, which fans can access to get more information on the game along with a host of gorgeous art and assets.

Developed by renowned Japanese games studio CyberConnect2, Solatorobo: Red the Hunter is the spiritual successor to the PlayStation classic Tail Concerto, and features a vibrant anime art style and a unique fantasy world of floating islands and airships. Solatorobo’s soundtrack is equally memorable, with music composed by famed Japanese musician Chikayo Fukuda (.hack series), and both the game’s Opening and Ending songs were sung by LeiN (Tomoyo Mitani and Chikayo Fukuda).

Yesterday we saw that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D climbed back into the top ten rankings of the NPD charts. Today we’ve discovered just how much the title sold.

In August, the title sold 84,000 units. The small boost in sales could be attributed to the 3DS price drop that went into effect last month. It’s possible that many gamers purchased Zelda alongside their new 3DS system.

The debut trailer for Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, which was shown last year

After disappearing for almost a year, Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright will finally reemerge next week. The game’s official website has revealed that a special stage show will be held during TGS. We don’t know what will be shown, but I imagine that many new details will be shared. A new trailer wouldn’t hurt either.

The stage show will take place on September 17.
