Capcom created a lot of buzz recently when they stated that there are no plans to localize Ace Attorney Investigations 2. Now Capcom’s Corporate Officer/Senior Vice-President Christian Svensson has taken a bit of time to explain the company’s reasoning. Svensson also shared an interesting nugget that Okamiden’s sales have already surpassed those of the original Investigations title.

“The costs of localization are higher than the forecasted return. And no, it wouldn’t sell more than Okamiden (which has already sold more than the first Investigations). Could this content show up on some other platform somewhere down the line? Possibly, but there’s nothing on that front for me to talk about. I realize there are fans who would like to have this and I’ll be sure to explore ways that could happen viably in the future with our strategy and R&D teams but no promises.”

Many people want Super Smash Bros. to make an appearance on a Nintendo handheld, but are divided on whether it could be done well. I’m in the section that wants it and believes that it can be done correctly. In this post I’m going to explain to you how I would make a SSB game on the 3DS work and play correctly. I’ll then go into detail on the features, characters, and stages I would want in such a title.

Something tells me that this game wasn’t worth the wait…

This information comes from THQ’s Danny Bilson…

“But we really have to choose where to play. We don’t just all of a sudden have eight launch titles for 3DS, because we couldn’t get there. Do we have stuff in the plans for 3DS? Yeah, of course we do. And remember, there’s two groups in THQ. There’s the kids, family, and casual group that supports a lot of platforms that my group wouldn’t be supporting, and I promise you they’re supporting more of the moving interface stuff because it’s more natural for their games. We can play anywhere, but we just don’t want to be de-focused.”

I am reaaaally curious to see what the Saints Row 3DS game is like. THQ has already unveiled Saints Row The Third, so I’m wondering when we’ll get a glimpse of the 3DS title. E3 would be a nice play to show it!
