This information comes from Epic Mickey producer Raul Ramirez…
“I think it does a really good job, it does stand up to those. There are some levels that require a little bit more skill. Having to use Mickey Mouse’s spin move while using double jump to get to the harder to reach areas, as well as simply providing platforms to transverse up and down in-between the worlds. The classic cartoons are what we’re trying to reference and the classic platformers as well. Its just providing a different kind of play-style for the player that enjoys that kind of thing. We’re not trying to be like this or be like that. We are our own.”
Epic Mickey features a number of different gameplay elements, so it’d seem like a tough task to nail everything down. With that said, I do believe Warren Spector and his team will manage to make this title something special. It remains to be seen if Epic Mickey platforming segments will be comparable to Mario, but we’ll just have to wait and see when the game comes out in November.

As things stand now, Tomonobu Itagaki is making Devil’s Third for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 only. That could change sometime in the future, however. Itagaki recently stated that it’s possible the title could be released on other platforms in addition to Sony/Microsoft’s home consoles:
“”We’re developing it so that it can be brought to as yet unknown hardware as well. Specifically, the various areas of technology are scalable… More than that (the 3DS/PSP successor), although I can’t say this easily because I don’t have any information, it’s possible that Nintendo could release a higher end console. Something like that.”
Devil’s Third won’t be out until 2012 at the earliest. By then…who knows. Perhaps at that point we’ll be getting ready for the Wii’s successor. If that’s the case, Itagaki could consider bringing Devil’s Third to that console.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 was released in Japan just a few months ago, but Square Enix isn’t finished with the game. A few hours ago, the company revealed “Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 Professional” at the Tokyo Game Show “Great Masters GP” stage event. Many details are still under wraps, but we do know that it will feature new monsters, additional maps, and other new content. Joker 2 Professional is set to launch in Japan for the DS sometime in spring 2011.
