So in the mind of the consumer today, to buy a DS or Wii game is to buy a game that isn’t very good. One of the reasons the DS collapsed is piracy, it is very clear, but also it is a fantastic machine and very easy to develop for. It was possible for three kids in a garage to make a game for it. DS is the most successful platform ever, but all my kids’ friends at school have a DS with an R4. They have 100 games for no money. Piracy has been a huge issue on the DS and has had a pretty blatant affect on game sales. You can be sure that Nintendo will be looking to cut down on piracy with the 3DS.

Destructoid is reporting that Nintendo will be launching a brand new Animal Crossing title alongside their upcoming handheld, the 3DS. A demo has allegedly been shown to developers and publishers, with an announcement prepared for next Tuesday. Naturally, Nintendo only provided a brief comment, explaining that the company “does not comment on rumors or speculation.” We’ll find out if there’s any truth to this rumor next week at E3.

Ivy the Kiwi? follows the storybook adventures of lonely baby bird Ivy as she traverses beautiful 2-D landscapes and challenging obstacles in search of her mother and identity. In a nod to classic adventure tales and heroines before her, Ivy the Kiwi begins her journey against great odds and with a grand entrance—a great fall from the sky. From the forest floor amidst a bed of leaves, her journey begins. It becomes quickly apparent that Ivy is alone. Frightened and unable to fly, she sets off through a dreamy forest on foot—or is it claw? Many creatures peek from behind leaves and rocks to investigate the mysterious little creature, but none with the same fiery red coloring as she. As she wanders, Ivy stumbles upon a single red feather and the first clue to her mother’s whereabouts.
But the journey to self-discovery is never easy, and Ivy’s is no exception. Her path is littered with danger and menacing obstacles.
