Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival

It’s looking like Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival will feature online play. In a tentative display box, it’s stated that players “can also party online with friends”. That may make the game a bit more enticing for some fans!

USgamer has put up its interview with Aya Kyogoku, the head of the Animal Crossing series. Kyogoku explained Nintendo’s approach with Happy Home Designer and amiibo Festival, discussed the new Animal Crossing amiibo in general, commented on the series’ future, and more.

Here’s something you may not have known about Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival. In the game, it will be possible to use the upcoming amiibo cards for mini-games (presumably to unlock them). Nintendo has yet to share the specifics of this feature yet, but I’m sure we’ll be hearing more in the near future.

GamesBeat caught up with Animal Crossing director Aya Kyogoku at E3 2015 last week. While much of the discussion was focused on Happy Home Designer, Kyogoku also shared some comments about amiibo Festival, the series’ future, and even Smash Bros.

Animal Crossing amiibo figures and cards get their own party game
The board layout can remain the same, but the spaces and even the environment changes, depending on which month players choose for their game. As in other Animal Crossing games, players can buy turnips and use strategy to decide when to sell them for big money.
Another mode challenges players to help animals gather supplies to build a raft and escape an island before time runs out.
One compatible amiibo is required per player and are (sold separately).
