Devolver Digital - E3 2018

Devolver Digital has announced a press conference for E3 2018. The show will air during the evening of June 10 (June 11 in Europe).

The full breakdown of times are as follows:

Update (5/17): The mention of “Nintendo Direct: E3 2018” has now been removed. It’s unclear if that’s due to the name being updated or because Nintendo didn’t want to share that name at this time.

Original (5/16): When Nintendo initially announced its plans for E3 2018 a few weeks ago, a digital presentation was confirmed. But at that time, the show didn’t actually have a name.

Now that seems to have changed. Nintendo updated its E3 website today, and it now includes the following title for the presentation: “Nintendo Direct: E3 2018”. It states specifically, “Three days of Nintendo Switch gameplay with Treehouse members and developers, starting right after Nintendo Direct: E3 2018 with Super Smash Bros.”

Nintendo has shared new details about its plans for E3 2018. Specifically, we have information regarding ticket reservations to play Smash Bros. Switch.

Those who stop by the show will be able to choose from two different options. You’ll be able to reserve a ticket to play against people casually “for fun” or play “for glory” in competitive elimination match.

If you bring your Switch system with you, and if you’re spotted by Nintendo or around the Los Angeles Convention Center, you’ll be given an exclusive, collectible Switch pin while supplies last. Nintendo says it’s a “one-of-a-kind swag”.

A number of new listings have popped up on Walmart Canada, possibly tying in to E3.

In terms of brand new games, NBA 2K19 is listed for Switch. LEGO DC Villains also has pages for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, though assuming the game is legitimate (and it has been rumored before), a Switch release is almost certainly happening.

A few months ago, preliminary floor plans for E3 2018 were posted online. With just a month to go until the big event, we now have updated versions.

It’s true that the plans haven’t seen a major overhaul, especially when it comes to Nintendo. However, it’s worth getting a look at where things stand at the moment.

This information comes from Nintendo’s Tatsumi Kimishima…

During the fiscal year ending March 2019, we plan to drive results by positioning Nintendo Switch, which is expanding its installed base, at the core of our business, as well as through the continuation of the Nintendo 3DS business, and by expanding the scale of our smart-device business. We will also move forward with our goal of expanding the number of people who have access to Nintendo IP.

And finally, the video game tradeshow E3 will be held in Los Angeles this June. Again this year, Nintendo will not be hosting a large-scale press conference for institutional investors, analysts and the media. Instead, we plan to continue our practice from the past few years of utilizing a video presentation to introduce the games that are
planned for release during the year.

According to Nintendo, the presentation will cover Switch games for 2018, including Super Smash Bros.
