Hollow Knight: Godmaster is now live on Switch. To get your hands on the latest content, simply update your game – it’s entirely free. Godmaster features new characters, quests, secrets, and more.

To celebrate the new content launch, Hollow Knight has gone on sale for the first time. It’s available for $9.90, down from the original $15 price point. The discount ends on August 27.

Hollow Knight is only available as a digital download at present. But next year, that’ll be changing thanks to a new partnership between Team Cherry and Skybound Games.

Announced today, Hollow Knight will have a physical version on Switch in Spring 2019. Skybound Games will be distributing the title.

With a week to go until the arrival of Hollow Knight’s next free content pack, developer Team Cherry has changed the name. It’ll now be called Hollow Knight: Godmaster. Previously, the DLC was known as Gods & Glory.

You’ll be able to get your hands on the new content starting August 23.

Team Cherry explained the name change on its official website:

Team Cherry has set a release date for Hollow Knight: Gods & Glory, the game’s final free content pack. The DLC arrives on August 23.

Gods & Glory is said to be “the largest pack yet”. It has new bosses, new music, new NPCs, and new quests. “The final chapter for the knight is turning into the celebration we hoped it would be,” Team Cherry says.

Hollow Knight

A new patch is being pushed out for Switch players, mostly for bug fixes. In addition to the patch notes, it has been confirmed that controller rebinding will be added to the Switch version via the Gods & Glory Content Pack. The fixes are as follows:

Hollow Knight has done exceptionally well on Switch thus far. In its first two weeks, the game has sold over 250,000 copies on Nintendo’s console. Team Cherry confirmed the news to IGN.

Since its release, Hollow Knight has been at the top of the eShop charts. Team Cherry has stated that the team is working towards a physical version.

After a fairly long wait, Hollow Knight was dropped onto the Switch eShop next week. If you prefer having a game physically though, it sounds like a new option will soon be available to you.

Team Cherry said in a Reddit AMA that the company is working to make a physical version happen as we speak. The developer hopes to have some news “very soon”.

After waiting for several months, Team Cherry’s Hollow Knight saw a surprise release on Switch yesterday. Check out some footage below.

Nintendo Life caught up with Team Cherry at BitSummit over the weekend. William Pellen and Ari Gibson talked about the Switch version, and provided a good status update regarding progress. The team is now “near the finish line”, Team Cherry says.
