The latest issue of Famitsu magazine has revealed that Imagineer is releasing Little Friends: Dogs & Cats for the Switch in Japan. A game in the vein of Nintendogs, Little Friends will allow you to live and interact with dogs and cats.

Also, it’s been revealed that the previously announced Fitness Boxing, also by Imagineer, will be launching on December 20 in Japan. Fitness Boxing will be published by Nintendo in the West; we will keep you updated once a Western release date has been announced.

Fitness Boxing is coming to Switch, Imagineer announced today. The company is working with Nintendo on the release.

Building off of the successful Shape Boxing series on Wii that sold 800,000 copies worldwide, Fitness Boxing has you using the Joy-Con to simulate boxing exercises. The company Fit Boxing Japan, with the aim to conduct boxing training safely and efficiently, created a program for Switch that allows people to easily experience boxing at home. 1-2 players are supported.

Fitness Boxing launches this winter. Imagineer is handling its release in Japan (where it’s known as simply Fit Boxing), but Nintendo will actually distribute the game in other regions.

In Japan, Imagineer recently released Medabots Classics for 3DS. You can check out some lengthy gameplay in the video below.

Imagineer has posted a new trailer for Medabots Classics, which drops in Japan on 3DS towards the end of December. View it below.

Some additional information about Medabots Classics has been revealed in this week’s edition of Famitsu.

Firstly, development is stated to have been exactly 78% complete.

There are postgame bonuses for completing the main stories, such as being able to replay the game with every part unlocked and even gaining access to phantom parts that were never available before. There is something called a “Meda-Album” which functions something like a Pokedex, compiling all the parts you obtained in the main stories. You can save and load at any time, and you can skip pesky low-level battles (or high-level ones) using a “Force Robobattle Skip” feature. Wireless local multiplayer has been included for battles and trading.

Medabot Classics versions Kabuto and Kuwagata will release in Japan for 3DS on December 21st, 2017.

Imagineer is announcing that the studio is developing its first title for Switch. The studio is known for making the Medabots series and Kanji Test games, and they are also currently planning to release two other titles for portable systems this year.

For the one game Imagineer is developing for Switch, they’re taking after the concept of “can be enjoyed by anyone, anytime, and anywhere”. Various play styles will also be supported.

Imagineer’s mystery title is planned to be released in the next fiscal year (starting April 2018) or beyond.

More:

Imagineer announced today that it will fully absorb Rocket Company on July 1. The Medabots copyright was initially shared between the two sides, but will now be completely held by Imagineer.

The merging decision was made because Imagineer plans to partially reduce its package software business while reconsidering the company’s strategy. They’ve seen growth within the smartphone games market, so they want to make their organization management more efficient and speed up the development of mobile titles.

Of course, Rocket Company published the Medabots games in Japan. We’ll have to see what this means for the series going forward, but hopefully there will still be a presence on Nintendo systems.
