[Let’s Talk] July 2025 Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase reactions

The July 2025 Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase aired earlier this week, and following the event, we’re interested in hearing about what you thought of the show.
This wasn’t a general Nintendo Direct, meaning the Big N itself wasn’t really present here. We did get to see Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, but that was all. Third-parties did show up with their own announcements – Monster Hunter Stories 3, Octopath Traveler, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, Persona 3 Reload, Pac-Man World Re-Pac 2, and Once Upon A Katamari were shown. July 2025 Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase official recap announcement

Nintendo just passed along its official recap announcement for the July Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase. If you’re looking for a helpful rundown of everything shown during the presentation, the press release should come in handy.
A number of games were shown from third-parties. Monster Hunter Stories 3, Persona 3 Reload, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, and Octopath Traveler 0 were among the titles shown.

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance demo out today

A new demo for Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is arriving today, SEGA has announced. This comes ahead of next month’s launch.
The demo can be downloaded via the game’s official Nintendo eShop listing. With it, players can explore the first stage of the game, Oboro Village, battling enemies and traversing platforming obstacles through hand-drawn environments. After that, they can aim for the highest score in Arcade Mode and uncover hidden paths. Also worth noting, the demo unlocks certain gameplay abilities that are normally obtained later in the full game.

Goodnight Universe shares Nintendo Switch 2, Switch release date

As part of today’s Nintendo Direct, we’ve learned when Goodnight Universe will be out. It’ll be heading to both Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch on November 11, 2025.
We originally heard about Goodnight Universe earlier in the year. The emotional adventure game is a spiritual successor to the BAFTA-winning Before Your Eyes.

Romancing Saga 2: Revenge of the Seven is making a return with a just-revealed Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Not only that, but the game is out today.
Compared to the Nintendo Switch version, there are several improvements here. Max resolution is 1440p when docked and 1080p in handheld mode. Frame rate also goes up to 60 FPS. Finally, there are faster loading times.
Octopath Traveler 0 announced for Nintendo Switch 2, Switch

During today’s Nintendo Direct, Square Enix unveiled Octopath Traveler 0. It will be available on December 4, 2025.
This is the third main entry in the Octopath Traveler series. We previously saw Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler 2, though the franchise hadn’t appeared on Nintendo Switch 2 – until now.
Here’s what’s been shared thus far about the new title:
Start from zero in a personal quest of restoration and retribution! In this prequel to the first OCTOPATH TRAVELER, journey to stop powerful villains using fast-paced, turn-based combat. For the first time in the series, play through the eyes of your own custom protagonist and rebuild your hometown. With over 30 recruitable party members, an engaging story, and all-new features and returning core elements like the iconic HD-2D graphics and the Break & Boost battle system, players embark on a journey of their own creation when OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0 arrives for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch on Dec. 4.

The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tale announced for Nintendo Switch 2 – new Square Enix HD-2D action RPG

We’ve just heard from Square Enix that The Adventures of Elliot The Millennium Tale is planned for Nintendo Switch 2. The game will be launching in 2026, though a free demo lands today on the Nintendo eShop.
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tale comes from the creators of Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default. The new game, which features HD-2D visuals, offers action adventure gameplay with a journey woven across time and space. Also noted in the description, players can open new paths as they explore an untamed continent and reveal its mysterious history. There’ll also be battles with strategic support abilities provided by a helpful fairy.

Hela is in development for Nintendo Switch 2, it’s been announced. The game arrives in 2025.
Hela is a 3D adventure game in which players take on the role of a tiny yet brave mouse in a handcrafted world inspired by Scandinavian folklore. Expect to explore the world. solve puzzles, and be a force for good.

Chillin’ By the Fire announced for Nintendo Switch 2, out today

Another game revealed during today’s Nintendo Direct is Chillin’ By the Fire. The game launches today.
Chillin’ By the Fire is a campfire simulation game. In it, players can build and maintain campfires in a variety of different relaxing locales including the beach, forest, and snowy mountain tops. They’ll need to deal with differing weather and climate as they grow their campfire to Level 10 to advance.
Up to four friends or family members can gather around the fire both online or via GameShare. Also, if a compatible external USB-C camera is connected, you can appear in-game with CameraPlay.
