Koei Tecmo and Gust Corporation have shared the first official details and screenshots for the newly-announced Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland. We’ve rounded up all of the news below, courtesy of Gematsu.

Earlier today, we reported on Koei Tecmo opening up the Japanese website for Atelier Lulua: The Alchemist of Arland 4. In a surprise move, they also launched the European and North American websites for the game, confirming the game’s localization and slight title change to Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland as well as a release window of “Spring 2019”. So far, no sign of the limited editions that Japan is getting.

The website also confirms Lulua’s full name as “Elmerulia Fryxell” and introduces Eva Armster, another party member and Lulua’s childhood friend. The screenshots on the website still show the Japanese version of the game, by the way.

The next Atelier game, Atelier Rurua: The Alchemist of Arland 4, has been officially announced in Famitsu. Like the recent entries in the franchise, Gust is developing it for Switch.

Here are the first leaked details out of Famitsu:

Preview images of this week’s Famitsu magazine have appeared online, and they have revealed that a new game in the Atelier series is under development at Koei Tecmo and Gust. Specifically, this game will be the fourth entry in the Arland series of games – the first three games conveniently were recently re-released as deluxe versions on Nintendo Switch in Japan, with a Western release coming up on December 4th. Not much was revealed other than the teaser image you can see above, although Famitsu does point out that a new scene was present in the DX version of Atelier Meruru, which already teased that a new game in the series is coming:

Technically we don’t know yet if this new game will be on Nintendo Switch, but given Koei Tecmo’s support for the system, we’d be surprised if it wasn’t. We should have more information once we get our hands on the full version of Famitsu tomorrow.

Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition was announced for Switch in Japan this week. Koei Tecmo has now followed up with news for the west, confirming plans for a western release.

Here’s a brief overview:

Koei Tecmo has extensive experience working with Nintendo characters when it comes to its Warriors games. Both Zelda and Fire Emblem received their own games. Producer Masaki Furusawa says Nintendo representation was considered for Warriors Orochi 4, but ultimately decided against doing so.

Furusawa explained:

A few days ago, Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition DX was announced for Switch. Koei Tecmo has since opened the game’s teaser site, accessible here.

Aside from the new site, first screenshots are in. We have the images showing Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition DX below.

Now that we’ve received Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors, maybe audiences are ready for the series that inspired them. Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition DX launches physically and digitally in Japan on December 27. No Western release date was announced. Similar games were only ever released in Japan, so no guarantee it ever gets one.
