Pokemon GO’s launch in France was delayed due to attack in Nice, may release this week
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Mobile, News | 7 Comments
A whole bunch of European countries received Pokemon GO on Friday. There was one notable region left out, however: France.
In a statement provided to IGN, The Pokemon Company confirmed that Pokemon GO’s launch in France was delayed due to the horrible attack that took place in Nice last week. The full note reads:
“As a sign of respect for the French people in this time of national mourning, the release of Pokémon GO is postponed. Our thoughts and prayers are with France and the victims affected by this terrible attack.”
Pokemon GO does not have a set date in France. However, IGN reports that it may be available later this week after an official period of national mourning ends.

Pokemon GO not out in Japan yet due to lack of “server capacity”, Niantic targeting end of July
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Mobile, News | 17 Comments
Pokemon GO has landed in more and more countries over the past few days. Japan, however, still has yet to receive it.
Speaking with Forbes, Niantic CEO John Hanke explained that the delay comes down to server capacity.
He said:
“At present, the server capacity in Japan is not powerful enough. We are working hard with our partners in Japan to enable the servers to keep up with demand once the game goes online there. We expect it to be released by the end of July.”
Forbes also has its own speculation about what’s going on, and says “other game watchers and those familiar with Japan’s network complexities are suggesting that mid-September looks more likely.” I don’t think they can afford to wait that long. We’ll see what happens!

Rumor: Pokemon GO has continent-exclusive Pokemon
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Mobile, Rumors | 54 Comments
Catching all of the original Pokemon in Pokemon GO may end up being a difficult task. That’s because, supposedly, there are exclusive Pokemon to find in the different continents.
Serebii says that Tauros is exclusive to North America. Mr. Mime can only be found in Europe. Kangaskhan is only in Australia, and Farfetch’d is located in Asia.
We haven’t been able to officially confirm this just yet. If it’s true though, folks who want to have all 151 Pokemon may need to do some traveling!

Pokemon GO arrived in 26 new countries earlier today… and then the servers proceeded to go down. Users have been experiencing issues for the past few hours.
On the bright side, Niantic is aware of issues surrounding Pokemon GO, and is working to restore service. That was passed along through the game’s official Twitter account just a few moments ago. Niantic also said that another update will be shared “soon.”
Here’s the official message:
Trainers! We have been working to fix the #PokemonGO server issues. Thank you for your patience. We'll post an update soon.

You can apparently choose how Eevee evolves in Pokemon GO
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Mobile, News | 2 Comments
Eevee is one of many Pokemon to be found in Pokemon GO. However, it can evolve into one of three creatures: Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Flareon.
Choosing your Eevee evolution is actually rather simple. For Jolteon, simply give your Eevee the nickname Sparky. For Vaporeon, name it Rainer. Choose Pyro to nab Flareon.
Here’s a look at the trick in action:
As for where these nicknames came about, the Eevee Brothers from the original anime were named Rainer, Pyro, Sparky who owned a Vaporeon, Flareon and Jolteon respectively.

Pokemon GO – Vaporeon appearance in Central Park causes a stampede
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Mobile, Random, Videos | 33 Comments
Update: If that wasn’t enough, here’s a video from earlier in the week when people were going nuts in Washington’s Downtown Park (Bellevue) after a Squirtle appeared:
Continuing the insanity that is Pokemon GO, a stampede formed in New York’s Central Park last night when players came across Vaporeon. This isn’t the easiest creature to catch, so when it was detected at around 11 PM, the crowd went into a frenzy.
Again, we’re not going to be posting too many off-beat news posts stemming from Pokemon GO, but things like this are tough to resist. It’s just crazy seeing the types of things happening!

Update (7/15): Bumped to the top. Pokemon GO is now at the same spot in Italy and Spain. Not Portugal though!
World Domination continues – Pokemon Go #1 gross in Italy and Spain …..but not Portugal …why? pic.twitter.com/jZ8SDYKUmS

Original (7/14): Let me know if you’ve heard about this kind of story before: Pokemon GO topping the charts. With the game’s arrival in the UK, that’s the situation we’re seeing once again.
Pokemon GO has managed to reach the top spot on iOS in terms of gross revenue. We don’t have an exact time on this, but it apparently rose to the top in just a matter of hours. Can’t say I’m entirely surprised by the success!
Thanks to Jake for the tip.
