Game Boy GBA Switch Online schedule

Nintendo has commented on the release schedule for Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games on Nintendo Switch Online – of which there really isn’t one.

A Nintendo Direct this week revealed additions of both systems for the service. Anyone with an active Switch Online subscription can access Game Boy titles now. The same goes for Game Boy Advance, though you need to subscribe specifically to the Expansion Pack tier for that one.

Switch Online GBA

Just announced, Game Boy Advance games are making their way to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.

The launch lineup includes Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$, Kuru Kuru Kururin, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, and The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. More titles are planned for the future.

Switch Online Game Boy

For the first time, Game Boy games are coming to Nintendo Switch Online.

The launch lineup includes Tetris, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX, Gargoyle’s Quest, Game & Watch Gallery 3, Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, Metroid II: Return of Samus, Wario Land III, and Kirby’s Dream Land. More games will be added in the future.

Switch Game Vouchers

Original (1/30): Switch Game Vouchers have been missing in North America for quite some time, but it seems that they could be returning in the near future.

Nintendo briefly published a video, which has since been pulled, and it came with the thumbnail above. The description stated how those with a paid membership to Switch Online can redeem them for a digital game in the voucher catalog, allowing consumers to save a bit of cash.

Original (1/9): A new game is being featured on Nintendo Switch Online for user icons, with members now able to obtain elements based on Nintendo Switch Sports.

The title will have several waves over the next few weeks. For the first round, there’s a focus on golf and sportsmates. As usual, you can nab icons for characters, backgrounds, and frames.

Something finally happened this week that many had for a long time thought would be impossible: a release of GoldenEye 007. If you’re a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscriber, you can play it right now. For some, this will be their first time reexperiencing the game since its release over two decades ago. GoldenEye 007 on Switch is largely the same as it was back in the day, but you can now at least play it online thanks to the built in functionality of the N64 app.

If you’re one of those people that played GoldenEye 007 when it first came out and have now started it up on Switch, how do you feel it holds up? Is it as good as you remember? And for new players, what are your thoughts on the game that has often been labeled as a true classic? Let us know in the comments.

GoldenEye 007 Switch release date

A release date has been announced for GoldenEye 007 on Nintendo Switch Online. The N64 classic is now confirmed to be launching on January 27, 2023. It’ll be offered to all members as part of the Expansion Pack tier.

GoldenEye 007 was previously announced for Switch last September. That news was shared during a Nintendo Direct.

Here’s an overview of the game:

Nintendo of Europe announced on Twitter this morning that Snipperclips will be the next Nintendo Switch Online Game Trial in Europe. This should apply to all PAL regions, and will be available to all users with an active subscription from January 27, when the current Online Game Trial, Uno, is set to end.
