Pokemon Yellow

Update: Added Pokemon Red, Blue and Green footage after the break.

Pokemon Yellow – along with Red and Blue – are hitting the 3DS Virtual Console in celebration of the series’ 20th anniversary. Take a look at over an hour of footage from the download below.

During today’s Pokemon Direct, it was announced that Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow on the 3DS Virtual Console are all compatible with Pokemon Bank. That means any Pokemon you catch in the classic games can eventually be transferred over to Sun and Moon.

Back when Pokemon Yellow originally came out, players needed a Surfing Pikachu in order to access the mini-game Pikachu Beach. Moreover, the only way to obtain this Pokemon is with a copy of Pokemon Stadium.

Thankfully, Pikachu’s Beach is still in the 3DS Virtual Console version of Pokemon Yellow. Additionally, you now only need to talk to the man in the Summer Beach House near Fuchsia City to play.
