The latest UK software sales chart for the week ending July 15, 2023 is now available.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom holds on to where it was previously at #2.  Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is also still in the top five at #4.

Sonic the Hedgehog remakes reboots

SEGA president and COO Yukio Sugino has commented on the success of Sonic Frontiers as well as interest in approaches like remakes and reboots.

Sugino’s comments came as part of an interview published in a recent issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu. He was first asked about what was memorable last year, to which he pointed to the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie as well as Sonic Frontiers. The Switch title, which is also available on other platforms, “managed to sell more copies than we anticipated.”

Nintendo published a new list today that reveals the best-selling games on the Japanese Switch eShop for the first half of 2023.

What came on top? That’d be The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, of course. Despite coming out in the middle of May, it took the top spot.

There are a few other games worth mentioning. Fire Emblem Engage did well, coming in right behind Zelda. Both volumes of the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection also placed in the top ten.

For the second consecutive month, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was the best-selling physical game. However, it placed #6 overall. Nintendo does not share digital data, so it could have landed higher.

The latest UK software sales chart has been released for the week ending July 1, 2023.

AEW: Fight Forever was one of the new releases and did mange to enter the top three. Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life is also in the top ten. After dropping a spot last week, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is back at #1.
