Pokemon Sun/Moon

New data from the UK has ranked all of the mainline Pokemon games going back to the Game Boy based on how big their launches were in terms of sales.

It’s actually Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon, a pair of 3DS titles, that topped the list. Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are right behind at #2. We just saw the release of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl on Switch, which come in at #5.

Here’s a look at the full list:

According to new data from Nintendo, Switch systems and games sold more in the UK and across Europe during the week of November 23 than any other week in the console’s lifespan. That’s based on reported sell-through according to internal Nintendo sales data. Software sales for both physical and digital sales are included.

On the hardware front, the previous best for Switch was in November 2019. The limited bundle including a Switch console, a download code for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and a three-month individual membership to Nintendo Switch Online provided a boost in sales.
