XSEED Games announced today that Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town has become the company’s fastest-selling title to reach 100,000 units on a single platform in North America. That goal was reached within one week after its launch on July 14. Story of Seasons on 3DS was the previous record holder.

That’s not the only good news from XSEED, as Rune Factory 4 Special has also surpassed 100,000 copies sold. That was accomplished in less than five months in North America.

Update: Post updated with the top 40.

Early information is in regarding Paper Mario: The Origami King’s initial sales in the UK.

In its first week, the game came in at the second spot. Even more notable is that it’s now the fastest-selling Paper Mario game having narrowly surpassed Super Paper Mario. Additionally, first week sales were larger than the launch of Paper Mario: Color Splash and Paper Mario: Sticker Star combined. Keep in mind that digital sales for The Origami King aren’t considered here.

Nintendo Switch

Continuing the trend in recent months, Switch was again the best-selling system in the United States last month. Nintendo’s console outperformed all other platforms in both unit and dollar sales.

Despite the strong sales of Switch, overall gaming hardware sales were down in June year-over-year to $191 million. It’s the first month of year-on-year declines since February. However, year-to-date spending is up 25 percent compared to a year ago to $1.6 billion.
