SEGA showcased Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice during its live stream program on Niconico once again today. Find the recorded gameplay below.

Puyo Puyo Chronicle, Sega’s upcoming 3DS puzzle RPG, has gotten a reveal trailer. Check it out below:

The game is currently only announced for Japan and is set to release on December 8th.

Puyo Puyo Chronicle is in development for 3DS, according to the latest issue of Famitsu. The new game is being made in celebration of the series’ 25th anniversary.

Puyo Puyo Chronicle is a puzzle RPG. The RPG mode features Arle as the protagonist, who gets sucked into an alternate world with her partner Carbuncle. In order to return home, they’ll need to work with a mysterious girl named Arie. Characters and fields are all represented in 3D, and fields can be explored freely.

The voice cast includes:

Arle (CV: Mioe Sonozaki)
Carbuncle (CV: Tamaki Nakanishi)
Arie (CV: Honoka Inoue)
Amitie (CV: Shiho Kikuchi)
Ringo (CV: Asami Imai)

SEGA 3D Classics Collection will come to Europe on November 4, SEGA has announced. North America has had the collection since April 26.

Nine classic games are featured in SEGA 3D Classics Collection. Sonic The Hedgehog, Thunder Blade, Galaxy Force II, and Altered Beast are among the titles represented. Maze Walker and Power Drift are also debuting in Europe for the first time. On top of that, Fantasy Zone II: The Tears of Opa-Opa, an extension to Fantasy Zone II is included.

Mario and Sonic have starred alongside each other in various games based on the Olympics over the years. However, that’s not what Yuji Naka – one of Sonic’s creators who has since moved on from SEGA – originally envisioned.

We’ve heard about this a bit in the past, but Naka spoke about the origins of Mario & Sonic in greater length in an interview with Famitsu. When he gave a presentation in front of Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto during the GameCube era, it was for an action game featuring the two characters. Unfortunately, that didn’t lead anywhere, but SEGA obtaining the license for the Olympics eventually led to Mario and Sonic teaming up for a game. Yet to this day, Naka still wants to see the two characters in an action title.
