Splatoon 3 update announced (version 3.0.0), patch notes

Nintendo has announced a massive 3.0.0 update for Splatoon 3 which is going live imminently. This should be available on February 27 in North America and February 28 in Europe.
A big update was expected around the start of the Expansion Pass and new season, and that’s a big component of the update. There’s a ton of new content, features, changes, and bug fixes planned. Some of the highlights include the Fresh Season 2023 items, Pool feature, Horrorboros in Salmon Run, jukebox in the lobby, and Splatfest adjustments.

Splatoon 3 gets first Fresh Season 2023 details, Kraken Royale and more

Original (2/16): Splatoon 3 will soon be kicking off Fresh Season 2023, and Nintendo has now provided first details – including the Kraken Royale. New gear, new stages, new content for Salmon Run, and a lobby jukebox are in the pipeline.
One of the big highlights is the Kraken Royale, which is a new special weapon. With it, you can transform into a gigantic squid or octopus. Here’s a quick look:

Splatoon 3 hosting next Big Run in March with Horrorboros

Nintendo has shared first details for the next major Big Run event in Splatoon 3, which will be happening at the start of March.
While active, players will be tasked with defending Inkblot Art Academy from Salmonid invasion. Also teased is a new King Salmonid which is known as Horrorboros.

Splatoon 3 reveals art book, soundtrack for Japan

Original (2/14): The news for Splatoon 3 continues, as it’s just been announced that an art book and soundtrack will be released in Japan.
The art book will cover the culture and stages players encounter in the Splatlands plus a look at other elements like weapons and gear, the single-player Hero Mode, Salmon Run, Tableturf Battle, and more. While the art book has only been announced for Japan currently, it’s very possible that a western release will happen later on – we’ll keep an eye out for news on that front.

Splatoon 3: Expansion Pass Wave 1 out on Switch this month

Nintendo has announced a final release date for the Splatoon 3: Expansion Pass Wave 1. This is planned to launch on February 28, 2023, the company announced today. It’s a bit surprising since the release window was last planned for this spring.
The Expansion Pass was just revealed during a Nintendo Direct last week. Two parts are planned in total.

Splatoon 3 – Splatfest #4 results – Dark vs. Milk vs. White Chocolate

The fourth Splatfest for Splatoon 3 is now in the books and we have the final results for the Dark Chocolate vs. Milk Chocolate vs. White Chocolate event.
If you were paying attention to things at halftime, you may have seen that Team White Chocolate was in the lead with 36.20 percent. Team Dark Chocolate followed in second with 32.38 percent, with Team Milk Chocolate right behind that with 31.42 percent.

Nintendo has announced that a new version 2.1.1 update is set to go live for Splatoon 3 today.
Following the Expansion Pass announcement, support is being added with an initial bonus. A number of fixes are also included.

Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass announced

Nintendo has promised substantial updates for Splatoon 3 going forward, so it comes as no surprise that the game was shown off during today’s Nintendo Direct and we now know that an Expansion Pass is on the way.
There’ll be two waves of content. The first wave, planned for this spring, is Inkopolis from the first Splatoon, and the Squid Sisters will even perform during Splatfests.

Splatoon 3 announces chocolate-themed Splatfest

A new Splatfest centered around chocolate has just been announced for Splatoon 3. The event will be held from February 11 to February 13.
The Splatfest theme will make players pick which is their preferred chocolate flavour, with players able to choose between White, Milk, and Dark.

Nintendo has announced that a new version 2.1.0 update for Splatoon 3 is arriving this week. It will be available tomorrow, January 17, in North America. This will be late in the day, so it’ll be January 18 in Europe and Japan.
Nintendo is focusing on battle adjustments here, including main weapons, special weapons, and more. Plenty of bug fixes are also included.
Also announced is that the next update for the game will focus on new features and weapon balance. The update, which is planned for the end of the current season, will be released for the start of the new season in March.
