Splatoon 3 update 2.0.0

Nintendo has announced a massive version 2.0.0 update for Splatoon 3, which is going live on Splatoon 3. This ties in with the upcoming Chill Season 2022.

Chill Season is bringing along lots of content, which has been previously discussed and further mentioned in the patch notes. Outside of that, there are tons of adjustments coming to weapons, ranked (ability to reset your rank), Salmon Run, Splatfests, and more. A truckload of fixes are planned as well.

One thing to keep in mind is that after installing version 2.0.0, you won’t be able to claim any Super Sea Snails from the Pokemon Splatfest. Make sure to claim them before downloading the data.

Below are the full patch notes for the Splatoon 3 version 2.0.0 update:

Splatoon 3 best weapons

The arsenal of weapons available in Splatoon 3 is varied and complex, which can make it difficult to pick one weapon to focus on, but we’ve put together a guide detailing twenty of the very best to make that choice easier. We also have brief descriptions of each weapon to explain what makes them so great.

Of note, this guide will mostly cover weapons from the perspective of Anarchy Battles, the game’s ranked mode and the one used in competitive play. Furthermore, it should be noted that every weapon in Splatoon 3 is viable to some degree, assuming you aren’t playing in a highly competitive setting. The weapons detailed in this guide are simply the ones that will have the easiest time achieving good results if used well.

Pokemon Scarlet Violet sales Japan

Based on the latest sales data, Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet have collectively seen the biggest game launch ever in Japan.

Nintendo and The Pokemon Company reported earlier today that the Switch titles collectively sold 10 million units worldwide in its first three days. In Japan alone, we now know that the region accounts for 4.05 million copies.

Splatoon 3 Marooner's Bay

Marooner’s Bay is making a comeback for Salmon Run in Splatoon 3, Nintendo confirmed today. The stage will be appearing as part of Chill Season 2022. A brief overview was also shared on Twitter.

Nintendo points out that a highlight of Marooner’s Bay is the height difference between the large ship hull and the shore to the left and right. Since it can be dangerous to stay down there for too long, players are advised to get back to the ship quickly after collecting the Golden Eggs.

Splatoon 3 Brinewater Springs

Splatoon 3 is adding a ton of new content in just a couple of weeks as part of the Chill Season 2022, and one of the new pieces of content it’ll bring about is the Brinewater Springs stage. Over on Twitter, Nintendo provided a closer look at the level.

Nintendo said on social media that the stage is “hilly and packed with hot springs.” Players can choose to defend the high ground or attempt to invade from below. Of course, all of the little touches you’d expect from a Nintendo game are here, including a little jellyfish who’s just hanging out by a fountain.
